[Remote] Staff Software Engineer - Full Stack (Golang)
Note: The job is a remote job and is open to candidates in USA. Bestow is a leading vertical technology platform in life insurance, aiming to modernize the industry. The Staff Software Engineer will develop core services using Golang and PostgreSQL, enhance foundational services, and collaborate with cross-functional teams to drive product features and improvements.
Responsibilities
- You will be developing core services primarily using Golang and PostgreSQL
- We're a startup with a long product roadmap. You will help and accelerate foundational services to scale the output of our product teams
- Resolve issues with previously delivered features
- Write unit and integration tests for code you create
- Peer review code developed by others on your team
- Ensure software is secure, maintainable
- Work with designers, product managers, and other engineers
- Encourage automation and continuous improvement
Skills
- 8+ years of professional software development experience (full stack)
- Professional experience with Golang (Go)
- Experience with modern frontend technologies including React and Typescript
- An advocate for Continuous Integration/Continuous Delivery (CI/CD)
- Experience with distributed systems or microservices
- Experience designing APIs (Protocol Buffers, RAML, Swagger, OpenAPI, etc.)
- Strategic Orchestration of AI-Augmented Engineering: Drives org-wide adoption of AI development tools (e.g., GitHub Copilot, Claude Code, Cursor) across frontend and backend domains to accelerate delivery of modular, full-stack features. Establishes and champions cross-stack standards for AI-generated code from API design to UI components ensuring automated testing and documentation workflows reduce technical debt at scale. Coaches both engineers and managers on leveraging GenAI to bridge domain gaps, enabling more fluid collaboration across teams while maintaining high architectural integrity
