Hampshire County Council is offering exciting opportunities for Trainee, Graduate, and Senior Fire Engineers to join their Fire Engineering and Consultation Team. The team is responsible for ensuring fire safety compliance in new-build and renovation projects across Hampshire and the Isle of Wight, while also supporting fire safety audits in complex premises.

Responsibilities

  • Take the lead on behalf of the Fire Authority in relation to fire engineering projects within Hampshire and IOW to ensure building designs meet the requirement of The Regulatory Reform (Fire Safety) Order 2005
  • Ensure building regulation consultations are completed within statutory timeframes
  • Provide support and guidance to operational, enforcement, investigations and fire safety colleagues on built environment and technical matters
  • Build and maintain relationships with key internal and external stakeholders
  • Maintain high professional standards of practice
  • Maintain your own personal and professional development
  • Facilitate the sharing of relevant information with other areas of the organisation

Skills

  • Full training to complete a minimum of a Level 6 Fire Engineering qualification from a recognised University or other awarding body
  • Willingness to complete the Level 6 Fire Engineering qualification within an appropriate timeframe
  • Support to complete further education and registration with the Engineering Council at IEng or CEng
