Director of Procurement
We are supporting a rapidly growing renewable energy owner and developer on their search for a Director of Procurement. This role sits within the project execution organization and is responsible for leading the full procurement lifecycle across a portfolio of utility‑scale renewable energy projects, including solar, wind, and battery energy storage systems (BESS). The Director will oversee strategic sourcing, supplier management, and procurement execution for critical equipment and EPC scopes, while building and leading a team and partnering cross‑functionally to align procurement strategy with project timelines, cost targets, and broader business objectives.ResponsibilitiesLead, develop, and manage a team of procurement professionals across strategic sourcing and operational buying functionsDevelop and execute procurement strategies to secure supply, optimize commercial terms, and establish preferred supplier relationships across core equipment categoriesLead sourcing and negotiation of high‑value agreements for EPC contractors and major equipment, including PV modules, BESS systems, inverters, trackers, transformers, and breakersManage end‑to‑end RFI/RFQ/RFP processes, including supplier evaluation, bid analysis, and commercial negotiationsBuild and maintain strong relationships with OEMs, EPC contractors, and suppliers to improve performance, reliability, and total cost of ownershipOversee procurement execution, including purchase orders, contract administration, delivery coordination, and logistics planningEnsure procurement processes are compliant, documented, and aligned with internal governance and controlsCoordinate equipment allocation, delivery schedules, and logistics strategies to ensure timely project executionPartner cross‑functionally with development, engineering, construction, finance, and legal teams to align procurement with project and business needsSupport technical reviews, contract approvals, and change order management processesEnsure procured equipment meets performance, reliability, and bankability requirementsMonitor and communicate market intelligence around pricing, supplier capacity, tariffs, and supply chain risksDevelop cost forecasts and procurement strategies based on market trends and supplier insightsProvide regular reporting to executive leadership on procurement performance, risks, and opportunitiesTrack supplier performance, contract compliance, and delivery timelines across multiple projectsDrive continuous improvement initiatives to enhance procurement efficiency, reduce costs, and standardize processesDevelop and maintain procurement systems, tools, and policies to support scalability and operational effectivenessQualificationsRequired QualificationsBachelor's degree in supply chain, business, engineering, or a related field7-10+ years of procurement or supply chain experience, including leadership of sourcing and purchasing teamsExperience sourcing technical equipment for capital‑intensive or infrastructure projects, ideally within renewable energy or utilitiesStrong commercial acumen with demonstrated success negotiating high‑value, complex contractsProven leadership experience managing teams and cross‑functional initiativesStrong analytical, organizational, and problem‑solving skills in a project‑driven environmentExcellent communication and stakeholder management abilitiesPreferred Skills & AttributesExperience within utility‑scale solar, wind, BESS, or EPC environmentsFamiliarity with volatile supply chain conditions, tariffs, and global trade considerationsBackground in strategic category management or capital project procurementExperience with procurement systems, ERP tools, and data‑driven decision‑makingExposure to analytics or advanced tools to enhance procurement strategy and reporting Apply tot his job Apply To this Job
