Senior Systems Engineer

Position Overview Iron Will Ventures is seeking a highly motivated Senior Systems Engineer to support advanced Department of War and national security programs. The successful candidate will provide technical leadership across system design, integration, testing, and operational transition activities while working closely with government customers, industry partners, and multidisciplinary engineering teams. This position is ideal for an engineer who thrives in fast-paced environments, enjoys solving complex technical challenges, and wants to directly contribute to the development and fielding of next-generation warfighting capabilities.

Key Responsibilities

Lead systems engineering activities throughout the program lifecycle, from requirements development through integration, test, and deployment. Develop and manage system architectures, technical baselines, interface definitions, and requirements traceability. Conduct trade studies, technical assessments, and engineering analyses to support program objectives. Coordinate with hardware, software, test, and operational stakeholders to ensure successful system integration. Support technical planning, risk management, and execution of developmental and operational test activities. Participate in design reviews, technical interchange meetings, and customer briefings. Evaluate system performance and recommend improvements to enhance mission effectiveness. Mentor junior engineers and contribute to the growth of Iron Will Ventures' engineering capabilities. Support proposal development, solution architecture, and technical strategy activities.

Required Qualifications

Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Physics, Computer Science, Mathematics, or a related technical field. 10+ years of systems engineering experience supporting complex technical programs. Demonstrated experience with requirements development, system integration, verification, and validation. Strong understanding of systems engineering principles and lifecycle processes. Experience working within Department of War, Intelligence Community, or aerospace environments. Ability to communicate effectively with technical teams, program leadership, and government customers. Active Secret Security Clearance with the ability to obtain and maintain a Top Secret clearance.

Preferred Qualifications

Master's degree in Engineering, Systems Engineering, or a related discipline. Experience supporting space systems, missile defense, autonomy, electronic warfare, advanced sensors, or emerging technologies. Familiarity with Model-Based Systems Engineering (MBSE) tools and methodologies. Experience with digital engineering environments and architecture frameworks. Active Top Secret clearance. Experience supporting rapid prototyping and technology transition efforts. Desired Attributes The ideal candidate: Thinks strategically while maintaining attention to technical detail.
