Building on our success in three initial California communities, we are seeking a Director of Community Engagement to lead and grow our patient engagement and enrollment initiatives, strengthen partnerships, foster and enhance trust and connections throughout our current communities and scale our presence in other communities as we grow. As a member of our Leadership Team, you will report to and work closely with our CEO to turn Vayu Health’s vision into reality by shaping and executing strategies to raise awareness and drive patient recruitment. This role provides direct oversight to the Outreach Manager with the expectation to scale and grow the the team as Vayu Health expands. The Director must be a dynamic "player-coach" who balances high-level strategic planning with the proactive, hands-on execution necessary to drive patient enrollment and foster lasting community relationships. Responsibilities: Patient Engagement & Enrollment ● Lead strategies to achieve patient enrollment goals, prioritizing outreach to underserved and high-need populations living with chronic conditions. ● Collaborate with Leadership and the Outreach Team to align patient recruitment campaigns with organizational goals and messaging. ● Partner with the Care and Outreach teams to develop initiatives to engage patients throughout their lifecycle, ensuring a seamless experience from awareness to enrollment. ● Develop a data-driven approach to patient feedback and relationship management to refine programs and communications. Partnership Development ● Develop and nurture relationships with clinics, providers, health plans, and advocacy groups to drive patient referrals and strengthen Vayu Health’s reputation. ● Represent the organization at community events, conferences, and strategic meetings to promote the mission and services. ● Build a network of supporters, advocates, and collaborators within the healthcare community to further our mission. Community Development ● Develop and nurture relationships to increase trust within communities we serve. This would be with community key leaders, community based organizations such as food banks and housing agencies, and/or support groups such as for behavioral health and diabetes to drive patient referrals and strengthen Vayu Health’s reputation. ● Work with the Leadership and the Outreach Team to create patient-facing initiatives, ensuring patient voices are incorporated into program strategies. ● Leverage patient stories to raise awareness and influence public perception and media coverage. ● Create impactful communities for patients post-program completion to foster ongoing engagement. Team Leadership ● Directly manage and support the growth of the Community Engagement team, fostering a collaborative and high-performing environment. ● Provide clear direction, mentorship, and professional development opportunities for team members. ● Manage relationships with external vendors, including marketing agencies and PR firms, ensuring alignment with budget and objectives. Brand Expansion & Data Tracking ● Collaborate with the CEO to translate Vayu Health’s vision into actionable marketing and communications strategies. ● Oversee digital and offline marketing strategies, including paid media, social media, and event marketing. ● Lead the management and optimization of organizational websites to enhance content and conversions. ● Establish and monitor key metrics for patient enrollment and community engagement, providing regular updates to senior leadership. ● Leverage patient feedback and analytics to improve the patient experience, outreach initiatives, and partnership strategies. ● Ensure alignment between enrollment goals and marketing strategies, maintaining accountability for outcomes. Required Qualifications: ● 8+ years of experience in healthcare engagement, community outreach, or patient advocacy roles, with at least 3 years in a leadership position. ● Bachelor's degree in Public Health, Healthcare Administration, Communications, or a related field; Master's degree preferred. ● Demonstrated leadership skills with the ability to manage and mentor teams. ● Excellent verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to represent the organization persuasively across diverse audiences. ● Proficiency in leveraging data to inform strategy and measure program impact. ● Start-up or agency experience with demonstrated success in scaling a brand or organization in a high-growth setting. ● Advanced knowledge of Google Suite and the ability to learn new digital tools such as ClickUp, TriNet, and Lattice. ● Ability to travel to meetings with key stakeholders, conferences, or events as needed, up to 40%. Preferred Qualifications: ● Significant experience in patient relationship management in a healthcare setting, with a strong understanding of chronic illness advocacy. ● Lived experience with diabetes ● Experience in Continuous Improvement methodologies Apply To This Job
