HR Manager
africon GmbH is a leading management consultancy, serving clients globally with making informed decisions for a successful business in Africa through actionable insights, distinctive strategies, and business development support. We aim to foster investment & trade locally as well as to create wider impact and engagement with Africa using our multicultural business perspective, long-term experience, local networks, and actively present teams across the region. We are a team of around 30 people and are looking for a hands-on HR Manager (part-time) to take ownership of HR at africon, starting ASAP. HR Manager (part-time) We are looking for a smart, enthusiastic, self-driven and hands-on HR professional to join africon as HR Manager, starting ASAP. The role can be based in Nigeria, Egypt, Ghana or Kenya (remote). Role (what you will do) As HR Manager, you will take end-to-end ownership of HR operations and key people initiatives, working closely with consultants and leadership. HR Strategy & Workforce Planning Align HR priorities with company development Review team structure and proactively address staffing and skill gaps in co-operation with the sales department Recruitment & Onboarding Manage full recruitment cycle (needs definition to contract signature) Own and operate online recruitment platform (job posting, screening, coordination) [HR topics | Meeting] Ensure structured onboarding processes Performance Management Establish and run a consistent performance management cycle Policies, Contracts & Administration Maintain HR policies and ensure compliance Manage contracts Compensation & Development Support benefits development Contribute to career development and training initiatives Profile (what we are looking for) 2-4 years of experience in HR operations and/or HR generalist roles (ideally in multi-cultural / remote environments). Strong capability in recruitment process management (from JD to signature) and confident stakeholder management with hiring managers. Good understanding of performance management frameworks and the discipline to run a cadence (reminders, documentation, consistency). Solid organisational skills and high attention to detail (contracts, policies, compliance, documentation). Strong communication skills (written & verbal) and ability to work independently in a remote set-up. Comfortable with HR systems/ATS and digital workflows (experience with Manatal or comparable ATS is a plus). Fluency in English is required; additional languages are a plus. Minimum Bachelor's degree in a relevant field.
