Credit Balance Analyst I (US Remote)

The primary responsibility of the Credit Balance Analyst I is reviewing and resolving healthcare credit balance accounts on behalf of health insurance clients. This role goes beyond identifying overpayments by analyzing the root cause of account balances and partnering with provider staff to ensure accurate and complete resolution, whether through refunds, adjustments, or other action. Success in this role requires strong attention to detail, effective communication, and the ability to meet daily production and quality expectations in a performance-driven environment. \n Role and Responsibilities Confirm account details and financial transactions in assigned Provider patient accounting system and other supporting applications Complete detailed analysis to execute accurate, appropriate actions to ensure full resolution, including refunds, adjustments, or impediments to resolution Respond to external and internal follow-up requests in a timely manner Manage accounts receivable to obtain closure on identified Client overpayments by supplying required supporting documents and detailed follow-up notes Communicate effectively with internal teams and leadership to address questions and move accounts forward Identify and escalate complex issues or trends that may impact resolution, providing clear context for leadership review Maintain a high level of accuracy while working in a fast-paced, performance-driven environment
Qualifications
Exposure to healthcare, insurance, or revenue cycle (coursework, internship, or patient accounting work experience preferred) Excellent computer skills, including proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite, especially Excel Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with the ability to review detailed information and identify discrepancies Clear and professional written and verbal communication skills Strong attention to detail and organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple priorities and review large amounts of data Ability to work effectively in a remote environment with a reliable workspace and minimal distractions Preferred Skills Ability to learn and navigate multiple systems in a fast-paced, process-driven environment Self-motivated and able to work independently in a goal-driven, performance-based environment Results-oriented with a strong sense of ownership and follow-through Team-oriented mindset with a willingness to support shared goals and collaborate effectively MENTAL AND PHYSICAL DEMANDS This position will be exposed mainly to an indoor/office environment and will be expected to work in or around computers and printers. The nature of the work is sedentary, and the employee will be sitting most of the time. Essential physical functions of the job include typing and the repetitive motion to utilize computer software and hardware continuously throughout the day. Essential mental functions of this position include concentrating on analytical tasks, reading information, and verbal/written communication to others continuously throughout the day.
