Title: Adjunct Instructor - Legal Nurse Consultant Salary Range: $750.00/credit hour Standard Hours: Varies Work Location: Full Remote FLSA Status: Exempt College: Gateway Community & Technical College Campus Location: Gateway Community & Technical College Department: Business, IT and Professional Studies College offers a competitive benefits package and an attractive work environment that supports excellence, innovation, and creativity, including: Job Summary Gateway Community & Technical College is seeking a part-time adjunct instructor to teach PGL 250: Legal Nurse Consultant beginning Fall 2026. The course is delivered in a fully online format, with some required evening synchronous sessions, and runs on an 8-week term from August through October, using a fully developed master course shell. In addition to teaching responsibilities, the position includes collaborating with the program on consultation and support for course content development and alignment for PGL 250 during Summer 2026. Job Duties: Facilitate instruction and student engagement in an online learning environment Conduct required evening synchronous course sessions Provide timely communication, grading, and feedback to students Support student success and maintain regular virtual office availability Utilize the college learning management system and the established course shell Collaborate with program faculty and administration as needed Provide consultation and support related to course content development and alignment for PGL 250 during Summer 2026 Other duties as assigned Minimum Qualifications: Juris Doctor and Registered Nurse Two years of legal experience, preferably working with medical records Detail-oriented, self-motivated, able to work independently and adapt seamlessly to fast-paced, dynamic environments. Skilled in engaging and supporting students from different cultural and socioeconomic backgrounds. Excellent verbal and written communication skills. Proven ability to manage multiple priorities effectively and meet tight deadlines. Proficient in Microsoft Office (Excel, Forms, Outlook, Teams, SharePoint, Word). Preferred Qualifications: Previous experience in a community college setting Proficiency with Learning Management Systems (such as Blackboard, Canvas, etc.) Significant teaching experience, particularly at the college level Strong dedication to enhancing student learning and achievement. Experience in academic advising and supporting student success. The ability to adapt to new technologies and teaching methods is highly valued.
