Le Ceren recrute : Chargé d’études H/F - secteur industrie (CDI)
Job Title Le Ceren – Centre d'études et de recherches économiques sur l'énergie is looking for a professional to join their industrial sector team in Paris. The Ceren – Centre d'études et de recherches économiques sur l'énergie is a Groupement d'Intérêt Economique that produces detailed statistical data on energy demand and usage, and related studies for its members – Enedis, GRDF, GRTgaz, RTE as well as ADEME – or other clients involved in the ecological transition. The sectors addressed are those of the French industry, residential, and tertiary sectors. You will join the service in charge of the industrial sector, based in Paris. This service's main mission is to provide quality data and studies for its clients by exploiting:
- Data collected through surveys conducted by the Ceren in the field of energy consumption and usage (all types of fuels and electricity) of the French industrial sectors, complemented by other data;
- Its know-how in the fields of manufacturing processes and utilities (production of steam, compressed air, etc.), energy savings, and decarbonization.
Responsibilities
You will be mainly responsible for:
- Conducting studies
- Exploiting Ceren data
- Researching quantitative information (e.g., quantities produced by a given industrial sector) from third parties
- Using existing methods
- Writing study reports for Ceren clients
- Presenting a synthesis of studies
- Documenting methodologies and information sources used
- Carrying out data processing programs
- Retrieving data acquired by Ceren or available from national public statistics or Open Data
- Detecting possible artifacts
- Manipulating Databases
- Visualizing data (e.g., elaboration of Sankey diagrams)
- Documenting methods
- Being a force of proposal to evolve the observation system in terms of data collection and processing.
Initially, your missions will be carried out in pairs or trios. Profile With an engineering or university degree (Bac +5), you have solid knowledge in the fields of process engineering or energetics. Knowledge of the fundamentals of surveys and survey techniques would be a plus. You have a minimum of 24 months of professional experience. Previous successful experience in the energy field would be appreciated but is not essential. During your training or experience, you have been involved in developing computer programs to exploit available data: you are comfortable using software to analyze data such as R or the Pandas library, and you are ready to increase your skills to read and understand existing SAS programs. You are precise, passionate, curious, straightforward in human relations, and you know how to work in a team. You are attentive to the needs of your interlocutors and a force of proposal. Thanks to your synthesis skills and your writing qualities, you ensure quality deliverables to clients. Relations You will be required to meet Ceren clients and to confront results with network managers and the statistical service of the Ministry of Ecological Transition. You will be required to present your work in seminars. Employment Conditions Full-time employment in a permanent contract in Paris (75008). Partial remote work possible.
