  • Collaboration with Engineering Teams: Partner closely with arenaflex Technical Support, Engineering, and Customer Engineering groups to resolve hardware and software challenges quickly and efficiently.
  • Product Expertise & Training: Become the go‑to authority on arenaflex EBPG systems, delivering on‑site training sessions and creating documentation that empowers both internal staff and end‑users.
  • Escalation Management: Provide first‑line and second‑line support for hardware and software issues, escalating to senior engineers when necessary while maintaining clear communication channels.
  • Field Upgrades & Maintenance: Perform scheduled and unscheduled instrument upgrades, preventive maintenance, and repairs to ensure optimal system performance.
  • Status Reporting: Generate regular status updates for supervisors and customers, including detailed reports, test results, and recommendations.
  • Professional Communication: Interact with customers, colleagues, and vendors in a courteous, proactive, and solution‑focused manner, fostering long‑term relationships.
  • Travel Coordination: Manage travel logistics for field assignments across California and, when required, to other locations in the Americas or occasional international sites.

Essential Qualifications

  • Demonstrated ability to work effectively in a team environment and communicate technical concepts to non‑technical audiences.
  • Strong documentation skills with a proven track record of producing clear, concise, and accurate technical reports.
  • Hands‑on experience servicing complex scientific equipment, including installation, routine maintenance, troubleshooting, and repair.
  • Proficiency with standard test equipment (oscilloscopes, multimeters, spectrum analyzers, etc.) and familiarity with precision instrumentation.
  • Willingness and ability to travel extensively within California and, on occasion, to other U.S. or international locations.
  • Advanced U.S. Military electronics training or a Bachelor’s/Master’s degree in Electrical Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Physics, Applied Science, or a closely related discipline.
  • U.S. citizenship or valid Green Card status (required for compliance with export control regulations).

Preferred Qualifications & Additional Assets

  • Prior experience with electron beam or plasma‑based nanofabrication tools, especially arenaflex EBPG platforms.
  • Exposure to software debugging, firmware updates, and control system integration.
  • Project management experience, including the ability to prioritize multiple field service tickets and meet tight deadlines.
  • Certification in safety standards relevant to high‑voltage or vacuum equipment (e.g., OSHA, IEC).
  • Fluency in a second language (Spanish, Mandarin, etc.) that can enhance communication with diverse customer bases.
  • Demonstrated commitment to continuous learning through workshops, conferences, or professional societies.

Core Skills & Competencies

  • Analytical Thinking: Ability to dissect complex technical problems, identify root causes, and devise effective remediation strategies.
  • Customer‑Centric Mindset: Proactive approach to understanding customer needs, anticipating challenges, and delivering exceptional service.
  • Communication Excellence: Clear verbal and written communication, including the preparation of technical documentation, training materials, and status reports.
  • Adaptability: Comfort working in fast‑changing environments, handling multiple priorities, and adjusting to new technologies.
  • Safety Awareness: Strict adherence to safety protocols when working with high‑voltage, vacuum, or laser equipment.
  • Team Collaboration: Ability to build strong relationships with cross‑functional teams, from sales and engineering to product management.
