Key Responsibilities

Customer Interaction & Consultation

  • Greet every visitor with a warm, professional demeanor, establishing rapport within seconds.

Department Collaboration & Cross‑Training

  • Maintain expertise across multiple departments such as Building Materials, Décor, Electrical, Flooring, Garden, Hardware, Kitchen & Bath, Lumber, Millwork, Paint, Plumbing, and Tool Rental.
  • Assist teammates in adjacent areas during peak periods, ensuring customers receive consistent service regardless of location.
  • Participate in regular cross‑departmental training sessions to stay current on product lines, promotions, and industry trends.

Merchandising & Store Presentation

  • Keep assigned aisles fully stocked, organized, and visually appealing, following arenaflex’s merchandising standards.
  • Conduct routine inventory checks, report discrepancies, and coordinate replenishment orders with the back‑room team.
  • Ensure all displays are safe, clean, and “shop‑able,” removing hazards promptly and reporting any safety concerns to the Department Supervisor.

Safety & Compliance

  • Adhere to all arenaflex safety policies, completing required training modules and certifications.
  • Identify and correct unsafe conditions in real time, protecting coworkers, vendors, and customers.
  • Maintain accurate documentation of safety incidents, near‑misses, and corrective actions.

Sales Process Specializations (Optional Pathways)

  • Department Sales: Focus on high‑volume product categories, driving daily sales targets.
  • Lead Generator: Proactively reach out to prospective clients, qualifying leads for the Pro Account team.
  • Pro Account Sales: Build relationships with contractors and trade professionals, offering tailored solutions and bulk pricing.
  • Sales Specialist: Become an expert in a niche area such as Flooring or Kitchen & Bath, providing deep technical guidance.
  • Special Services: Coordinate installation, delivery, and after‑sales support for large‑scale projects.
  • Customer Order Specialist: Manage order entry, tracking, and fulfillment to ensure on‑time delivery.

Essential Qualifications

  • High school diploma or GED; associate or bachelor’s degree in business, retail management, or a related field is a plus.
  • Minimum of 1‑2 years experience in a customer‑facing retail or sales environment, preferably within home improvement, construction, or related industries.
  • Demonstrated ability to meet or exceed sales targets while maintaining high customer satisfaction scores.
