Role Overview – Customer Sales Lead (CSL)

The Customer Sales Lead will be the strategic champion for arenaflex’s snacks portfolio within the Amazon channel. You will own the end‑to‑end joint business planning process, drive category growth, and partner closely with key decision‑makers at Amazon to translate consumer insights into profitable shelf space and promotional execution. This fully remote role offers the flexibility to work from anywhere in the United States, with a preference for candidates located in Camden, NJ; Philadelphia, PA; or Seattle, WA.

Key Responsibilities

  • Joint Business Planning: Lead the development, negotiation, and implementation of annual strategic plans with Amazon, aligning volume, profit, and share objectives across the entire snacks portfolio.
  • Supplier & Category Management: Manage relationships with internal suppliers and external category teams to ensure seamless product availability and optimal assortment.
  • Sales Planning & Investment Optimization: Leverage arenaflex’s sales planning tools and Amazon’s investment platforms to create data‑driven customer plans that maximize ROI.
  • Trade Promotion Execution: Design, launch, and analyze trade promotion strategies, using post‑event analytics to refine future initiatives and drive incremental sales.
  • Deduction & Audit Oversight: Monitor deduction balances, conduct post‑audit reviews, and ensure compliance with contractual terms.
  • Digital Shelf Management: Utilize digital shelf solutions to improve retail availability, increase on‑shelf placement, and enhance online discoverability.
  • Category Business Reviews: Conduct quarterly reviews using loyalty and syndicated data (IRI, Nielsen, 1010) to surface consumer trends, performance gaps, and growth opportunities.
  • Online Share Growth: Apply category management best practices to expand arenaflex’s share in the e‑commerce environment, collaborating with Amazon’s merchandising and category teams.
  • Forecasting & Supply Chain Alignment: Produce accurate monthly forecasts, track shipments, consumption, and inventory, and proactively flag risks to supply‑chain partners.
  • New Product Introduction (NPI): Champion the sell‑in of innovative snack items, working with Amazon buyers to secure optimal distribution and shelf placement.
  • Collaborative Marketing: Partner with arenaflex’s marketing agency and internal teams to develop joint marketing programs—both online and in‑store—that align with brand strategy and drive consumer engagement.
  • Competitive Intelligence: Assess Amazon’s competitive landscape, identify profitable opportunities, and recommend investment strategies that balance trade spend, marketing equity, and profit objectives.
  • Stakeholder Relationship Building: Cultivate strong, trust‑based relationships with Amazon’s buyers, category managers, and merchandising leaders, serving as the primary point of contact for all snack‑related initiatives.
  • Trade Funding Management: Administer trade funding in accordance with arenaflex standards, ensuring transparent reporting and alignment with budgetary constraints.
  • Cross‑Functional Collaboration: Work closely with finance, category management, customer marketing, and supply‑chain teams to deliver integrated solutions that meet both arenaflex and Amazon objectives.

Essential Qualifications (Must‑Have)

  • Bachelor’s degree in Business, Marketing, Supply Chain, or a related field.
  • Minimum of 8 years of progressive experience in the CPG industry, with a focus on snack or grocery categories.
  • Proven track record of managing P&L, developing joint business plans, and delivering measurable growth in a large‑scale retail environment.
  • Strong analytical mindset with the ability to interpret syndicated data, forecast demand, and translate insights into actionable strategies.
  • Exceptional communication skills—both written and verbal—and the ability to influence senior stakeholders.
  • Demonstrated experience negotiating trade terms and managing deduction processes.

  • Experience with e‑commerce platforms and digital shelf technologies.
