  • Solution Recommendation: Match customers with the right products and services, demonstrating how each item fits into their overall project plan.
  • Project Sales: Guide customers through the full sales cycle—from initial interest to final checkout—ensuring they leave with a complete, well‑rounded solution.
  • Cross‑Department Collaboration: Coordinate with adjacent departments to provide seamless assistance for multi‑category projects.
  • Merchandising & Stock Management: Keep assigned aisles stocked, organized, and visually appealing; replenish inventory as needed.
  • Safety & Cleanliness: Maintain a safe shopping environment by adhering to all safety policies, completing required training, and promptly addressing hazards.
  • Teamwork: Work closely with department supervisors and fellow associates, sharing insights and supporting one another to achieve collective goals.
  • Administrative Tasks: Process orders, handle returns, manage paperwork, and update customer records accurately.

Essential Qualifications

  • High school diploma or equivalent; additional education in retail, sales, or a related field is a plus.
  • Minimum of 1‑2 years of experience in a customer‑focused role, preferably within a retail or home‑improvement environment.
  • Demonstrated ability to communicate clearly, listen actively, and build rapport with diverse customers.
  • Basic mathematical proficiency for handling transactions, measurements, and inventory counts.
  • Physical capability to lift up to 50 lbs, stand for extended periods, and navigate a busy store floor safely.
  • Strong organizational skills with an eye for detail in merchandising and stock upkeep.
  • Commitment to following safety protocols and completing ongoing safety training.

Preferred Qualifications & Additional Skills

  • Experience in specialized departments such as flooring, paint, or tool rental, providing deeper product insight.
  • Proficiency with arenaflex’s internal point‑of‑sale (POS) and inventory management systems.
  • Ability to conduct basic DIY project consultations, offering practical advice on installation, maintenance, and budgeting.
  • Certification or coursework in sales techniques, customer service excellence, or related disciplines.
  • Multilingual abilities to serve a broader customer base.
  • Demonstrated track record of meeting or exceeding sales targets in a retail setting.

  • Problem‑Solving: Quickly identifying challenges and offering creative, practical solutions.
  • Adaptability: Thriving in a fast‑changing environment, handling multiple tasks, and shifting priorities with ease.
  • Team Collaboration: Contributing positively to a supportive team culture, sharing knowledge, and stepping in where needed.
