About arenaflex – Your Next Career Destination

At arenaflex, we are more than a pharmacy; we are a community hub where health, convenience, and exceptional service intersect. Our stores serve millions of customers each year, providing trusted pharmaceutical care alongside a full range of retail products. As a leader in the health‑and‑wellness sector, arenaflex invests heavily in employee development, cutting‑edge technology, and a culture that celebrates collaboration, integrity, and continuous improvement. If you thrive in a fast‑paced environment, love helping people, and are eager to grow your career in a supportive, forward‑thinking organization, the Pharmacy Customer Service Associate role could be your perfect fit.

Why This Role Matters

The Pharmacy Customer Service Associate is the face of arenaflex’s pharmacy department. You will be the first point of contact for patients seeking medication advice, over‑the‑counter health solutions, and everyday retail assistance. Your ability to blend compassionate patient interaction with precise operational execution ensures that every customer leaves the store feeling cared for, informed, and satisfied.

Key Responsibilities

Customer Experience & Interaction

  • Greet every customer and patient with a warm, friendly demeanor, establishing trust from the moment they step into the pharmacy area.
  • Proactively identify customer needs, offering helpful suggestions, product recommendations, and health‑related advice while adhering to arenaflex’s service standards.
  • Resolve inquiries, concerns, and complaints promptly, ensuring a positive outcome and maintaining the highest level of customer satisfaction.
  • Model and share best‑practice customer service habits—such as eye contact, courteous language, and active listening—with teammates to elevate the overall service culture.
  • Assist customers in locating products, guiding them to the over‑the‑counter (OTC) aisle, and providing product education when appropriate.

Cash Register & Transaction Management

  • Operate the assigned cash register efficiently, processing sales, returns, voids, rain checks, refunds, and exchanges with accuracy.
  • Collect cash, dispense change, and handle electronic payment methods while maintaining strict adherence to arenaflex’s cash handling policies.
  • Recommend complementary items and promotional merchandise to increase basket size and enhance the shopping experience.

Pharmacy Operations & Support

  • Under direct supervision of the pharmacist, use arenaflex pharmacy systems to retrieve patient and drug information, enter prescriptions, and verify medication accuracy.
  • Assist in filling prescriptions by counting, measuring, and pouring pharmaceutical products, ensuring correct dosage and labeling.
  • Report any prescription errors immediately to the on‑duty pharmacist and follow arenaflex’s Quality Improvement Program protocols.
  • Handle non‑clinical telephone calls, including communications with physicians, and process manual claims for third‑party prescription services.
  • Support inventory management tasks such as receiving shipments, checking in merchandise, conducting stock rotation using the first‑in‑first‑out (FIFO) method, and filing claims for overages, shortages, or damaged goods.
  • Maintain compliance with state and federal regulations governing controlled substances, alcohol, and tobacco products.
  • Assist in creating and updating promotional displays, seasonal merchandising, and point‑of‑sale signage to drive sales and enhance store aesthetics.
  • Provide photo‑service assistance, including digital passport photos, poster printing, and suggestive selling of promotional photo products.
  • Manage web‑pick‑up orders by monitoring the Picture Care Plus system, assembling orders, and delivering them to customers promptly.
  • Contribute to store cleanliness and organization, ensuring counters, shelves, and the pharmacy area remain tidy, well‑stocked, and inviting.

Training & Professional Development

  • Earn and maintain PTCB certification through arenaflex‑provided training programs or state‑mandated requirements.
  • Participate in ongoing education sessions, completing performance‑linked learning (PPL) modules and staying current on pharmacy best practices, industry trends, and regulatory updates.
  • Collaborate with the Pharmacy Manager and Staff Pharmacist to improve workflow efficiency, patient safety, and overall department performance.

Essential Qualifications

  • Fluent reading, writing, and speaking abilities in English (exceptions apply for specific territories).
  • Flexibility to work varied shifts, including evenings, weekends, and holidays, to meet the needs of arenaflex’s operating schedule.
  • Strong mathematical aptitude for accurate prescription counting, measuring, and weighing.
  • Basic computer proficiency, with the ability to navigate arenaflex’s point‑of‑sale and pharmacy software platforms.
  • Commitment to upholding arenaflex’s Code of Conduct, Good Faith Dispensing policy, and all applicable state and federal regulations.

Preferred Qualifications & Experience

  • At least six months of experience in a retail environment, preferably within a pharmacy or health‑care setting.
  • Prior experience working for a pharmacy chain such as arenaflex, demonstrating familiarity with pharmacy workflows and customer expectations.
  • Demonstrated proficiency in inventory control, including stock rotation, merchandising, and loss‑prevention techniques.
  • Current PTCB certification or a clear pathway to obtain it within the first 90 days of employment.
  • Excellent interpersonal skills, with a proven track record of delivering courteous, patient‑focused service.

Core Skills & Competencies

  • Customer‑Centric Mindset: Ability to anticipate needs, provide empathetic assistance, and create memorable experiences.
  • Attention to Detail: Precision in handling prescriptions, cash transactions, and inventory tasks.
  • Communication: Clear, professional verbal and written communication with customers, teammates, and healthcare providers.
  • Team Collaboration: Willingness to share knowledge, support colleagues, and contribute to a positive workplace culture.
  • Adaptability: Comfort with a dynamic environment, quickly shifting priorities, and learning new technologies.
  • Ethical Integrity: Strict adherence to confidentiality, regulatory compliance, and arenaflex’s ethical standards.
