As a Remote Senior Collections Specialist, you will be the frontline guardian of arenaflex’s financial health while delivering compassionate, solution‑focused service to our valued customers. This position blends the analytical rigor of collections with the human touch of customer service, ensuring that each interaction not only resolves outstanding balances but also strengthens the long‑term relationship between arenaflex and its members.

Key Responsibilities

  • Customer Interaction: Engage with customers via phone, email, chat, and written correspondence to negotiate payment arrangements and resolve outstanding balances.
  • Compliance & Accuracy: Apply all applicable credit regulations, state and federal laws, and arenaflex policies to each account, ensuring accurate documentation and adherence to compliance standards.
  • Problem Solving: Diagnose complex account scenarios—including bankruptcy, fraud, legal disputes, and billing errors—and develop tailored resolution strategies.
  • Multi‑Channel Communication: Manage a high‑volume, fast‑paced environment that requires juggling emails, phone calls, chat messages, and letters while maintaining a professional and empathetic tone.
  • Data Management: Accurately input and update account information in arenaflex’s CRM systems, ensuring that all interactions are logged and traceable.
  • Collaboration: Work closely with internal partners—such as the Credit Team, Legal Department, and Customer Experience specialists—to coordinate resolutions and share insights.
  • Continuous Improvement: Provide feedback on process bottlenecks and suggest enhancements to improve efficiency and customer satisfaction.
  • Flexibility: Adapt to shifting business needs, including occasional changes in shift schedules, new policy rollouts, or special projects.

Essential Qualifications

  • High School Diploma or GED (or equivalent).
  • 1–2 years of prior customer service or call‑center experience, preferably in a collections or financial services environment.
  • Demonstrated ability to communicate clearly, listen actively, and negotiate effectively.
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite and comfort navigating multiple software platforms simultaneously.
  • Reliable home office setup: a quiet, distraction‑free workspace, wired Ethernet connection (minimum 40 Mbps download / 5 Mbps upload), and a webcam for virtual meetings.
  • Flexibility to work varied shifts, including nights, weekends, and holidays, to meet business demands.
  • Strong problem‑solving skills with the ability to apply policies to unique, often complex, customer situations.

Preferred Qualifications & Additional Skills

  • Associate’s or Bachelor’s degree in Business, Finance, Communications, or a related field.
  • Experience with collections software (e.g., FICO, Experian) or CRM platforms such as Salesforce.
  • Knowledge of credit reporting regulations (Fair Debt Collection Practices Act, state-specific statutes).
  • Previous experience handling escalated complaints and de‑escalation techniques.
  • Exceptional written communication skills, with the ability to craft clear, concise, and empathetic messages.
  • Demonstrated ability to meet productivity metrics while maintaining high quality and compliance standards.
