We invest heavily in innovative platforms that connect drivers, vehicles, and services, creating seamless experiences that are safe, sustainable, and inclusive. As part of our Global Customer Experience (GCE) organization, you will join a high‑performing team that powers the onboarding and off‑boarding of vehicle services for millions of customers worldwide.

Why Join arenaflex?

At arenaflex we champion an inclusive culture where every voice matters. Our Work Appropriately philosophy gives you the flexibility to work where you can make the greatest impact—whether from home, a local office, or our cutting‑edge innovation centers. We believe that diverse perspectives drive better products, and we invest in your growth through continuous learning, mentorship, and a robust total rewards program.

Role Overview

The Customer On/Off‑Boarding (COB) platform is an enterprise‑wide service layer that exposes APIs to enroll and enable vehicle services on a customer’s vehicle. Built on a microservices and event‑driven architecture, COB orchestrates the entire lifecycle—from pre‑delivery preparation to post‑delivery activation—ensuring a smooth, reliable experience for every driver.

As a Senior Software Engineer on the COB team, you will design, develop, and maintain backend microservices that power this global platform. You will also mentor junior engineers, champion best practices, and occasionally step into a lead‑developer role when the situation calls for it.

Key Responsibilities

  • Develop end‑to‑end microservices using Java, Spring Boot, and 12‑factor design principles.
  • Participate in the full software lifecycle: requirements gathering, design, implementation, testing, deployment, and production support.
  • Write clean, maintainable code and create comprehensive unit, integration, and performance tests.
  • Automate build, test, and deployment pipelines using arenaflex DevOps tools (formerly TFS), Maven, Gradle, and Artifactory.
  • Collaborate with cross‑functional teams to define API contracts, data models, and event schemas.
  • Monitor, troubleshoot, and resolve production incidents within a DevOps framework, ensuring high availability and reliability.
  • Document technical artifacts such as configuration guides, installation manuals, and API reference material.
  • Implement localization and globalization strategies to support multiple regions and languages.
  • Drive continuous improvement by identifying code‑quality gaps, security vulnerabilities, and performance bottlenecks.
  • Mentor and coach junior developers, fostering a culture of knowledge sharing and technical excellence.
  • Lead design reviews and architectural discussions when acting as the lead developer on a feature or initiative.

Required Qualifications

  • Education: Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related discipline, or equivalent professional experience.
  • Experience: Minimum 7 years of professional software development experience, primarily with Java or another object‑oriented language.
  • Core Technologies: Deep expertise with Spring Boot, relational databases (Oracle or PostgreSQL), SQL, and messaging systems such as Kafka or Pulsar.
  • API Development: Proven ability to design and implement RESTful APIs and event‑driven services.
  • Testing Discipline: Strong background in test‑driven development (TDD) and automated testing frameworks.
  • CI/CD: Hands‑on experience building and maintaining CI/CD pipelines using arenaflex DevOps, Jenkins, Maven/Gradle, Artifactory, and SonarQube.
  • Microservice Patterns: Familiarity with 12‑factor app methodology, containerization, and service discovery.
  • Version Control: Proficient with Git, including rebasing, merging, and conflict resolution.
  • SQL Proficiency: Ability to write and optimize basic to intermediate SQL queries.
  • Collaboration: Strong teamwork orientation, excellent communication skills, and a track record of influencing cross‑functional teams.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience with arenaflex orchestration platform (formerly Kubernetes) and arenaflex container runtime (formerly Docker).
  • Hands‑on experience with arenaflex Cloud services, arenaflex Event Hubs, and arenaflex DevOps pipelines.
  • Familiarity with NoSQL databases such as Cassandra.
  • Exposure to the ELK stack (Elasticsearch, Logstash, Kibana) for monitoring and dashboarding.
  • Knowledge of Agile and Scaled Agile Framework (SAFe) methodologies.
  • Experience with arenaflex Spark for large‑scale data processing.
  • Understanding of infrastructure‑as‑code and platform‑as‑a‑service concepts.

Skills & Competencies for Success

  • Analytical Thinking: Ability to dissect complex business processes and translate them into robust technical solutions.
  • Problem Solving: Proactive approach to identifying root causes and implementing long‑term fixes.
  • Leadership: Confidence to lead technical discussions, mentor peers, and drive consensus.
  • Adaptability: Comfort working in a hybrid environment—remote on most days, with mandatory on‑site collaboration at the assigned innovation center at least two days per week.
  • Customer‑Centric Mindset: Commitment to delivering high‑quality experiences that directly impact end‑users.
  • Continuous Learning: Eagerness to stay current with emerging technologies, industry trends, and best practices.

Career Growth & Learning Opportunities

arenaflex invests heavily in employee development. As a senior engineer, you will have access to:

  • Leadership development programs that prepare you for future technical or managerial roles.
  • Tuition assistance and student‑loan refinancing to support further education.
  • Internal tech talks, hackathons, and innovation challenges that encourage creative problem‑solving.
  • Mentorship from senior architects and product leaders across the global organization.
  • Opportunities to work on high‑visibility, cross‑regional projects that shape the future of vehicle connectivity.
