About arenaflex

arenaflex is a global leader in air cargo and passenger services, operating across 164 airport locations in 18 countries on five continents. Our mission is to deliver every shipment, piece of luggage, and passenger experience with precision, safety, and a smile. As part of the arenaflex family, you will join a dedicated team of cargo handlers, passenger service experts, ramp technicians, and logistics professionals who set the industry standard for reliability and excellence. If you thrive in a fast‑paced, safety‑focused environment and love helping travelers reach their destinations, arenaflex offers the runway you need to launch a rewarding career.

Why This Role Matters

The Customer Service & Ramp Operations Agent is the backbone of airport ground operations. You will seamlessly blend hands‑on ramp duties with front‑line passenger support, ensuring that aircraft are serviced efficiently while travelers receive the courteous assistance they expect. Your work directly impacts flight punctuality, cargo integrity, and overall customer satisfaction—key performance indicators that keep arenaflex at the forefront of the aviation industry.

Key Responsibilities

Ramp Operations (50% of role)

  • Load and unload baggage and cargo from aircraft using tugs, belt loaders, forklifts, and other ground support equipment, adhering to safety protocols and weight‑balance requirements.
  • Marshal aircraft to and from gates with precise hand signals and radio communication, coordinating closely with flight crews and ground control.
  • Conduct thorough pre‑flight and post‑flight safety inspections of all ramp equipment, documenting any discrepancies and initiating corrective actions.
  • Fill aircraft water tanks, verify fuel levels, and ensure all servicing points meet regulatory standards.
  • Maintain a clean, organized, and hazard‑free ramp environment, promptly reporting any safety concerns to supervisors.
  • Complete required flight paperwork, including weight‑and‑balance reports, cargo manifests, and equipment logs.
  • Assist in emergency response situations, such as equipment failures, medical incidents, or security alerts, following arenaflex’s emergency procedures.
  • Operate in all weather conditions—extreme heat, cold, rain, snow—while wearing appropriate protective gear.

Customer Service (50% of role)

  • Welcome passengers at check‑in counters, verify ticket validity, and process boarding passes using arenaflex’s reservation system.
  • Issue tickets, compute fares, and handle reservations, including standby and special‑needs travelers.
  • Collect excess baggage fees, provide accurate baggage‑handling instructions, and ensure smooth transfer of luggage to connecting flights.
  • Assist passengers at boarding gates, answer travel‑related inquiries, and provide real‑time flight information.
  • Manage lost‑and‑found activities: trace missing items, update passengers, and coordinate the return of found belongings.
  • Process baggage‑damage and loss claims, offering on‑the‑spot settlements for minor issues and escalating larger claims to the appropriate department.
  • Maintain detailed documentation of post‑departure procedures, including ticket invalidation and final reporting.
  • Demonstrate conflict‑resolution skills, de‑escalating tense situations and delivering solutions that uphold arenaflex’s service standards.

Minimum Qualifications

  • Education: High school diploma or GED equivalent.
  • Experience: Minimum of 1 year in customer service, retail, hospitality, or a related field.
  • Physical Ability: Capable of lifting and handling baggage up to 50 lb regularly (occasionally up to 75 lb), and performing repetitive motions such as bending, kneeling, and climbing stairs.
  • Shift Flexibility: Willingness to work varied schedules, including nights, weekends, and holidays.
  • Communication: Strong verbal and written English skills; ability to speak clearly over two‑way radios.
  • Technical Proficiency: Basic computer skills for data entry, ticketing, and equipment monitoring.
  • Regulatory Knowledge: Familiarity with airport safety regulations and the ability to pass background and security checks.
  • Union Membership: This position is covered by a collective bargaining agreement with the arenaflex, requiring membership and dues payment.

Preferred Skills & Experience

  • Previous experience in an airport, airline, or logistics environment, especially with ground handling equipment.
  • Hands‑on knowledge of ticketing, reservations, and fare‑calculation systems.
  • Demonstrated ability to manage lost‑and‑found and baggage‑claim processes efficiently.
  • Exceptional organizational skills with keen attention to detail.
  • Proven multitasking ability in high‑pressure, fast‑moving settings.
  • Understanding of international shipping documentation and air‑freight regulations.
  • Proficiency in a second language to assist non‑English‑speaking travelers.
  • Strong problem‑solving and conflict‑resolution capabilities.

Physical Requirements & Working Conditions

  • Frequent standing, walking, and moving throughout terminal and ramp areas for up to 8 hours or more per shift.
  • Ability to operate in noisy environments near aircraft engines and ground support equipment.
  • Clear vision and hearing to monitor flight information, respond to passenger calls, and ensure safety compliance.
  • Manual dexterity for handling paperwork, operating computers, and using two‑way radios.
  • Capability to work in confined spaces such as baggage handling zones and aircraft cabins.
  • Adaptability to extreme weather conditions, including heat, cold, rain, and snow.
