Senior Farm Operations Manager
Our client, a prominent agricultural enterprise, is seeking an experienced Senior Farm Operations Manager to oversee and optimize the daily operations of their diverse farming facilities. This role requires a blend of hands-on agricultural knowledge and strong management capabilities. You will be responsible for directing all farming activities, including crop planning, planting, cultivation, harvesting, and post-harvest management, while ensuring adherence to the highest standards of quality, safety, and sustainability. The ideal candidate will have a deep understanding of modern agricultural techniques, farm equipment management, labor supervision, and budget control. This position operates on a hybrid model, requiring regular on-site presence for critical operational oversight. Responsibilities: Develop and implement strategic plans for crop production, yield optimization, and resource management. Oversee all day-to-day farming activities, including land preparation, planting, irrigation, pest and disease control, and harvesting. Manage and maintain farm machinery and equipment, ensuring optimal performance and safety. Supervise and train farm labor, fostering a productive and safe working environment. Develop and manage annual farm budgets, controlling expenses and maximizing profitability. Ensure compliance with all relevant agricultural regulations, environmental standards, and safety protocols. Implement and promote sustainable farming practices to enhance soil health and minimize environmental impact. Monitor crop health and field conditions, making timely adjustments to cultivation strategies. Manage inventory of seeds, fertilizers, pesticides, and other agricultural inputs. Build and maintain strong relationships with suppliers, distributors, and industry partners. Analyze farm performance data and generate reports for senior management. Lead initiatives for process improvement and operational efficiency. Qualifications: Bachelor's degree in Agriculture, Agronomy, Agribusiness, or a related field. Minimum of 7 years of experience in farm management or agricultural operations. Proven expertise in crop production, soil management, and pest/disease control techniques. Strong knowledge of farm equipment operation, maintenance, and repair. Demonstrated experience in budget management and financial planning for agricultural operations. Excellent leadership, team management, and communication skills. Familiarity with agricultural technology and precision farming methods is a strong plus. Understanding of food safety and quality standards. Ability to work effectively in a hybrid model, balancing remote planning with essential on-site operational presence.
