Key Responsibilities
- Develop, implement, and manage digital preservation strategies and workflows in adherence to industry standards.
- Process, describe, and catalog digital assets using established metadata standards (e.g., Dublin Core, MODS, EAD) to enhance discoverability.
- Perform rigorous quality control checks on digital files and metadata to ensure accuracy, integrity, and compliance with institutional policies.
- Manage and maintain digital asset management (DAM) systems and archival platforms, ensuring optimal performance and user access.
- Plan and execute data migration projects to ensure the long-term accessibility and integrity of digital archives across evolving technologies.
- Advise on copyright, intellectual property, and data privacy issues related to digital content, ensuring legal and ethical compliance.
- Collaborate with internal and external stakeholders to facilitate controlled access to digital collections while adhering to security and access policies.
Required Skills
- Demonstrable experience with digital asset management (DAM) systems and content management platforms.
- Proficiency in archival description standards and metadata schemas (e.g., Dublin Core, MODS, EAD, PREMIS).
- Strong understanding of digital preservation principles, strategies for various file formats, and best practices.
- Excellent organizational skills, meticulous attention to detail, and a commitment to accuracy.
- Ability to work independently, manage multiple projects simultaneously, and meet deadlines in a remote environment.
- Effective written and verbal communication skills for clear documentation and stakeholder engagement.
- Familiarity with data storage solutions, cloud-based archival platforms, and data security protocols.
Preferred Qualifications
- Master's degree in Library Science, Archival Studies, Information Science, or a closely related field.
