Truck Dispatcher
Overview
Join our dynamic transportation team as a Truck Dispatcher, where you'll be the vital link ensuring smooth and efficient freight movement across our logistics network. In this energetic role, you will coordinate the scheduling, routing, and tracking of trucks to meet delivery deadlines while maintaining excellent communication with drivers, clients, and internal teams. Your proactive approach and attention to detail will help optimize our supply chain operations and deliver exceptional service.
Responsibilities
- Coordinate and dispatch freight shipments using transportation management systems such as DAT 123 Truckstop tql ch Robinson load boards
- Monitor GPS and data to track vehicle locations, optimize routes, and adjust plans as needed for efficiency.
- Communicate clearly with drivers via multi-line phone systems, providing instructions, updates, and support throughout their routes.
- Maintain accurate data entry in transportation management systems, shipping & receiving logs, and fleet management platforms like trello slack Google Sheets
- Collaborate with logistics teams to plan transportation routes, analyze freight needs, and resolve any issues related to dispatching or shipment delays.
- Use analysis skills to evaluate transportation performance metrics, identify areas for improvement, and implement solutions to enhance overall supply chain efficiency.
- Ensure compliance with safety standards by adhering to phone etiquette, professional communication practices, and regulatory requirements during all interactions.
Skills
- Proficiency in DAT logistics coordination and transportation planning tools to optimize freight movements efficiency
- Strong knowledge of logistics operations including shipping & receiving, fleet management, and 3PL (third-party logistics) providers.
- Experience with transportation management systems such as DAT or similar platforms like 123
- Excellent communication skills with the ability to handle multi-line phone systems professionally and courteously.
- Strong analysis skills for evaluating data related to freight movements, route optimization, and supply chain performance.
- Skilled in data entry with high accuracy in systems like excel or equivalent
- Familiarity with shipping regulations, freight documentation procedures, and transportation safety standards.
