About the Role
We are seeking an experienced Curriculum Designer to build and maintain rigorous, engaging high school courses for asynchronous online learners. You will design courses within an 8-week timeline, working from planning documents we provide—including scope and sequence frameworks and standards references—so you can focus on lesson-level development and content quality directly in our LMS. This role is ideal for someone who can balance strong pedagogy with clear standards alignment, objective neutrality, and modern instructional practices, including thoughtful AI integration.

Develop engaging instructional materials for asynchronous learners, including lesson narratives, activities, guided media experiences, interactive opportunities, and performance tasks. Standards Alignment Align all content to provided state and internal cross-curricular standards. Ensure alignment is clear, consistent, and traceable across lessons, assessments, and overall course outcomes. Assessment Design Create a variety of assessment types appropriate for asynchronous students (e.g., auto-graded checks, written responses, projects, discussion alternatives, mastery checks). Design assessments that are valid, accessible, and aligned to course objectives and standards. Instructional Best Practices & Neutrality Ensure courses are grade-level appropriate and reflect current instructional best practices. Maintain objective neutrality in tone, prompts, and assessment design. Present multiple perspectives where appropriate and draw on credible sources. AI Integration Integrate AI in ways that support learning while maintaining academic integrity, such as brainstorming scaffolds, feedback cycles, revision support, and skill practice with student-facing guidance. Course Maintenance & Collaboration Troubleshoot and resolve issues that arise in courses (content gaps, unclear directions, accessibility issues, broken links, assessment errors). Collaborate with the curriculum team to maintain consistency across courses and shared expectations.

Preferred Familiarity with Minnesota state standards or strong experience working with national standards and adapting quickly. Experience writing or teaching Honors-level coursework.
