Relief Staffing Specialist

- As a
Relief Staffing Specialist
, you will play a key role in supporting hospital operations by building and maintaining a strong pipeline of relief veterinarians for our growing network of UrgentVet and General Practice hospitals nationwide.
- The Relief Staffing Specialist is responsible for identifying, engaging, and onboarding relief veterinarians while ensuring a seamless experience from initial outreach through their first scheduled shifts. This role partners closely with Recruiting, Scheduling Operations Specialists, Practice Managers, and Regional Leadership to ensure hospitals have access to qualified relief veterinarians and that new hires are successfully integrated into our scheduling platform, Vetcher.
- In this role, you will manage the full-cycle onboarding process for relief veterinarians, including compliance. You will also assist relief veterinarians with onboarding logistics such as scheduling platform setup and coordination with internal teams to ensure readiness for their first relief shift.
- This is a
remote position
reporting to the
Director of Relief Staffing
. Strong time management skills and the ability to collaborate effectively with cross-functional teams in a remote environment are critical to success. Requirements:
- Bachelor’s Degree preferred.
- Minimum of 2 years of experience in recruiting/staffing preferred.
- Prior experience sourcing healthcare professionals (physicians, nurses) preferred. Veterinary experience is a plus!
- Prior experience using an Applicant Tracking System (ATS). Experience with Pinpoint a plus!
- Experience maintaining a high volume of sensitive information and building scalable structure around data.
- Experience working independently with little direction; able to work in ambiguous environments and comfortable with the unknown.
- Strong communication skills (especially written) with a focus on proper grammar and spelling.
- Ability to think ‘outside of the box’ and create staffing plans for hospitals within region.
- Ability to handle rejection in a highly competitive labor market.
- Ability to pivot focus and priorities based upon the ever-changing needs of our veterinary practices.
- Ability to travel on a limited basis (up to 25%).
