NC-Freelance Interpreter–Multiple Languages
Are you passionate about helping your community? We Need Your Help! Choice Translating is seeking on-site (OSI), video remote (VRI), and over-the-phone (OPI) contractor interpreters for multiple languages to join our team of talented linguists. Languages Needed but not limited to: Arabic Armenian Chinese (Cantonese & Mandarin) Dari French Gujarati Haitian Creole Hakka Chin Jarai Hindi Korean Portuguese Russian Somali Spanish Swahili Tigrinya Turkish Twi Ukrainian Vietnamese American Sign Language - Please apply separately here: NC ASL Freelance Interpreter Application Location
- Based in Charlotte, NC for on-site interpreting
- Open to interpreters in North Carolina or other states for VRI/OPI opportunities
Qualifications
- Fully bilingual, fluent in Kinyarwanda and English
- Technologically proficient (familiar with Google Meet, Microsoft Teams, etc.)
- High school diploma required; college degree preferred
- Eligible to work in the U.S. (Green Card or higher)
- Clean driving record, valid driver’s insurance, and reliable transportation
Responsibilities
- Accurately interpret spoken communication in real-time
- Communicate clearly and professionally in both languages
- Maintain confidentiality and follow HIPAA and interpreter Code of Ethics
- Manage your own flexible schedule and accept appointments as needed
- Provide services on-site, via video (VRI), or by phone (OPI)
- Be punctual, professional, and committed to high-quality work
