Job Summary and Qualifications

The Medical Data Entry Specialist – Supply Chain Operating Room Internal Control Coordinator (ORICC) is a critical role that requires a high level of attention to detail, organizational skills, and effective communication. As a key member of our Supply Chain team, you will be responsible for building, implementing, and maintaining all supply chain system functions within the Operating Room (O.R.). This includes:

  • Maintaining O.R. Preference cards and the O.R. Dictionaries with respect to supplies
  • Clearly communicating changes and educating appropriate personnel on preference card supply changes and new supply items
  • Actively participating in creating Bill Only PO's and ensuring that charge codes are created for all items that do not currently have a charge code
  • Working closely with the facility Supply Chain OR Materials Manager (ORMM) and the Supply Chain Division Director of OR (DDOR) to improve data integrity, accuracy, and efficiency of the preference card change process
  • Supporting the Supply Chain clinical resources in margin improvement efforts and patient billing review

Responsibilities

As a Medical Data Entry Specialist – Supply Chain Operating Room Internal Control Coordinator (ORICC), your key responsibilities will include:

  • Proactively developing and managing relationships with key facility stakeholders, including the O.R. leadership team and physicians
  • Developing daily schedules to ensure that Billing, Purchase Orders, and Preference card changes are completed within 24 hours
  • Working on Meditech (or other O.R. system) Data KPI's to ensure Meditech Data Integrity is continuously improved and maintained
  • Contributing to the Supply Expense Plan regarding O.R. margin improvement opportunities as appropriate
  • Managing the implementation, cleanup, and optimization of the O.R. MIS Supply Inventory dictionary and Supply Inventory on Physician Preference cards
  • Managing the Tissue Tracker issue report and working with O.R. Analyst and Clinical staff to resolve any interface issues between the MIS and the Tissue Tracker System
  • Working with CRD and O.R. Material Manager on all O.R. Supply conversions to ensure that the preference cards are updated in a timely manner

Qualifications

To be successful in this role, you will need:

  • High School or GED required
  • One year of computer-based experience or equivalent to materials management experience required
  • Specific Operating Room/Surgical Services experience preferred
