Experienced Student Assistant – Customer Assistance and Processing Unit (Remote) at arenaflex
Job Summary:
arenaflex is seeking highly motivated and detail-oriented student assistants to join our Customer Assistance and Processing Unit (CAPU) team. As a Student Assistant, you will provide exceptional customer service to students, parents, and the general public in a high-volume call center environment. This is a part-time, temporary, non-benefited position that offers a unique opportunity to gain valuable work experience, develop your skills, and contribute to the success of arenaflex.

Responsibilities:
As a Student Assistant in the Customer Assistance and Processing Unit, you will be responsible for:
- Providing accurate, prompt, and courteous customer service to students, parents, and the general public via phone, email, and in-person interactions
- Demonstrating patience, tact, flexibility, and good organizational skills in a fast-paced call center environment
- Learning operational knowledge of program applications and computer systems to efficiently process applications and respond to customer inquiries
- Utilizing strong communication skills to effectively communicate with customers, colleagues, and supervisors
- Working collaboratively with the CAPU team to achieve shared goals and objectives
- Participating in business process improvement initiatives to enhance customer service and operational efficiency
- Maintaining accurate records and tracking customer interactions to ensure seamless service delivery
Requirements:
* Currently enrolled as a college student at an accredited institution on arenaflex's affiliation list (view list at http://www.calinterns.org/wp-content/uploads/Affiliation_List.pdf)
- Maintaining a minimum of six-semester units or nine quarter units for undergraduate students; four-semester units or six quarter units for graduate students
- Declared major must match the major(s) listed in the job posting (Accounting, Business Administration, Communications Studies, Finance, Economics, Public Policy and Administration, Computer Science & Engineering, and Computer Information System)
- Ability to work in a call center environment with electronic records and computer systems
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills
- Ability to learn quickly and adapt to new systems and processes
- Familiarity with customer service principles and practices
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team
- Strong organizational and time management skills
- Ability to maintain confidentiality and handle sensitive customer information
Preferred Qualifications:
* Ability to speak and write Spanish
- Individuals who are, or have been, a dependent child in foster care, a homeless youth, or a formerly incarcerated youth as defined by Government Code section 18220 are encouraged to apply and will be given priority
Work Schedule:
* Flexible workdays and work hours, Monday - Friday, between 8 AM - 5 PM
- Up to 24 hours per workweek during the academic year and up to 40 hours per workweek during breaks (winter, spring, and summer)
Physical Requirements:
* Sit for extended periods; frequently stand and walk
- Manual dexterity and hand-eye coordination
- Corrected hearing and vision to normal range
- Verbal communication
- Use of office equipment, including computer workstations, telephones, calculators, copiers, printers, and scanners with or without reasonable accommodation
Working Conditions:
* Work is performed in a remote environment
- Students/Employees will be required to work according to the current arenaflex remote workplace policy and sign a arenaflex Work from Home Agreement
