We are seeking a skilled and motivated Kubernetes / Cloud Infrastructure Administrator to join our team. The successful candidate will be responsible for deploying, managing, and optimizing cloud-based solutions in Microsoft Azure and Amazon AWS to support RTX's mission-critical systems and operations. This role requires expertise in Kubernetes, container orchestration, infrastructure-as-code practices, and associated cloud-native technologies to support the mission-critical systems of RTX. What You Will Do:

  • Design, implement, and manage cloud infrastructure to support business and engineering applications.
  • Deploy, configure, and manage Kubernetes clusters in cloud environments.
  • Monitor and optimize performance, scalability, and availability of cloud environments.
  • Ensure cloud environments meet RTX security and compliance standards.
  • Automate infrastructure and cluster provisioning, upgrades, and maintenance using tools such as Helm and Terraform.
  • Implement and manage Kubernetes networking, including ingress controllers, service meshes, and network policies.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to assess cloud requirements and provide solutions aligned with business objectives.
  • Troubleshoot and resolve infrastructure issues while maintaining high reliability and uptime.
  • Stay current with cloud platform updates and best practices and provide recommendations for improvements.
  • Document processes, policies, and procedures for cloud operations.

Qualifications

You Must Have:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field and minimum 8 years prior relevant experience, or an Advanced Degree in a related field and minimum 5 years experience
  • 3+ years of experience in managing and administering Azure or AWS cloud environments with 1+ years of experience managing Kubernetes clusters in production environments.
  • Proficiency with Azure or AWS services, including compute, storage, networking, and security.
  • Familiarity with infrastructure-as-code tools such as Terraform and Helm and a strong understanding of networking principles and cloud security best practices.
  • Knowledge of CI/CD pipelines and DevOps practices with Excellent troubleshooting and problem-solving skills.

Qualifications

We Prefer

  • Azure or AWS certifications (e.g., Microsoft Certified: Azure Administrator Associate or Azure Solutions Architect Expert).
  • Experience working in both Azure and AWS environments managing multi-cloud-based applications.
  • Kubernetes certifications (e.g., Certified Kubernetes Administrator (CKA) or Certified Kubernetes Application Developer (CKAD)).
  • Experience working in an aerospace or defense environment is a plus.

The salary range for this role is 107,500 USD - 204,500 USD. The salary range provided is a good faith estimate representative of all experience levels. RTX considers several factors when extending an offer, including but not limited to, the role, function and associated responsibilities, a candidate’s work experience, location, education/training, and key skills. Specific benefits are dependent upon the specific business unit as well as whether or not the position is covered by a collective-bargaining agreement. Payments under these annual programs are not guaranteed and are dependent upon a variety of factors including, but not limited to, individual performance, business unit performance, and/or the company’s performance.
