Key Responsibilities

As a Customer Service/Ground Operations Agent, your primary responsibilities will include:

  • Providing exceptional customer service to all passengers, including scheduled and charter services
  • Processing tickets, checking baggage, monitoring carry-on baggage for size and quantity, and assigning seats
  • Providing information on arrival and departure times, boarding procedures, carry-on regulations, and seating arrangements
  • Marshaling in planes and pushing back the aircraft
  • Handling denied boarding situations, soliciting volunteers, re-accommodating customers, and providing hotel, meal, and taxi vouchers when necessary
  • Assisting customers with special needs, such as those requiring assistance in boarding, loading and unloading baggage, and co-mailing of various weights and dimensions to and from aircraft and applicable airport baggage areas
  • Operating heavy, motorized machinery/equipment, including tugs, tractors, belt loaders, bag carts, push-back tractors, deicers, etc.
  • Enforcing safety/security measures and monitoring safety-sensitive zones to ensure FAA compliance
  • Ensuring arenaflex and airport regulations are followed
  • Performing other duties as assigned

Essential Qualifications

To be successful in this role, you'll need:

  • A combination of education and experience, with a minimum of one (1) year of customer service experience or equivalent in related training and/or experience
  • Airline industry experience is preferred
  • A valid, unexpired driver's license
  • The ability to read, write, and speak English to receive and understand instructions, directives, and ensure safety, as well as interact with customers
  • Basic computer skills and knowledge of general office equipment
  • A positive and friendly attitude, with excellent communication and interpersonal skills
  • Ability to work efficiently under time constraints and adapt to changing situations
  • Availability to work varied hours, including nights, weekends, and holidays, and to stay late for irregular operations
  • Ability to lift, push, pull, or carry up to 100 lbs. and to push and/or pull up to 300 lbs.

Preferred Qualifications

While not required, the following qualifications would be beneficial:

  • Experience working in a fast-paced, dynamic environment
  • Knowledge of airport operations and regulations
  • Familiarity with airline industry software and systems
  • Ability to work in a confined area and crawl in and out of small spaces for extended periods
  • Ability to wear personal protective gear
  • Availability to attend required training and participate in ongoing professional development

Physical Requirements

As a Customer Service/Ground Operations Agent, you'll be required to:

  • Stand, sit, talk, hear, see, reach, stoop, kneel, and use hands and fingers to operate a computer, keyboard, printer, and phone
  • Lift, push, pull, or carry up to 20 lbs. and to push and/or pull up to 300 lbs.
  • Work various shifts/days in a 24-hour situation
  • Regularly attend work and be available to work varied hours, including nights, weekends, and holidays
  • Exposure to moderate noise, temperature, and light fluctuations
  • Ability to work in a confined area and sit at a computer terminal for an extended period
