Job Summary:
We're seeking an experienced Patient Account Customer Service Representative to join our Revenue Cycle team in a remote full-time capacity. As a key member of our team, you'll be responsible for handling patient billing inquiries, providing top-notch customer service, and collecting past due balances. Responsibilities:
As a Patient Account Customer Service Representative, you'll be responsible for:
- Handling patient billing inquiries via inbound and outbound telephone calls, email, fax, regular mail correspondence, or in-person interactions
- Serving as a liaison between patients, providers, external departments, or other responsible individuals to ensure that charts are applied appropriately
- Recording and maintaining transactions accurately to resolve account balances and discrepancies within the prescribed period
- Planning, organizing, and prioritizing work to convince debtors of the necessity of assuming financial responsibility
- Educating debtors on available payment options and explaining the financial impact of various alternatives
- Providing top-quality customer service experiences to ensure and maintain high levels of patient satisfaction
- Representing arenaflex by providing appropriate levels of competency and professionalism to ensure that all patient issues are resolved timely, accurately, and efficiently
- Ensuring that each call is handled appropriately and effectively to ensure the highest level of patient satisfaction
- Performing other duties as required
Requirements:
To be successful in this role, you'll need:
- A high school diploma or equivalent
- 1 year of customer service, healthcare, or office experience
- Previous call center experience is preferred
- Experience with medical terminology in a medical billing environment
- Strong computer skills and dexterity for data entry and retrieval of patient information
- Effective verbal and written communication skills to present information clearly and professionally to varying levels of individuals throughout the patient care process
- Proficiency with Windows-style applications, various software packages specific to the role, and keyboard skills
- Strong interpersonal skills to work effectively with patients, providers, and external departments
- Ability to perform effectively under conditions of fluctuating workload and work with minimal supervision to make independent decisions
Preferred Qualifications:
* Bachelor's degree in a related field
- Previous experience in a medical billing environment
- Knowledge of current federal, state, and local laws, accreditation standards, or regulatory agency requirements that apply to the assigned area of responsibility
