Job Summary

As a Principal Engineer in Data Analytics & Science, you will be responsible for leading a team of engineers, providing technical direction, and driving the development of data analytics and science solutions. You will work closely with cross-functional teams, including data researchers, business analysts, data engineers, and IT experts, to design and implement comprehensive data solutions. Your expertise will be instrumental in shaping the future of data analysis and science at arenaflex.

Key Responsibilities

* Lead and coach a team of engineers, providing technical direction and guidance on data analytics and science projects

• Develop and implement modern data practices through code reviews and design sessions
• Collaborate with data researchers and business analysts to design and implement data models and reporting structures
• Drive the development of adaptable and effective data analytics and science solutions using cloud-based technologies
• Ensure the integrity, security, and performance of data products and reporting solutions by working with data design, architecture, and operations teams
• Define and implement the long-term technical strategy for data analytics and science, incorporating emerging technologies and industry trends
• Stay up-to-date with emerging technologies and evaluate their relevance to arenaflex
• Work with cross-functional teams to design and implement data-driven solutions that meet business needs
• Foster a collaborative environment that encourages knowledge sharing and expertise development
• Establish and maintain data quality principles and best practices, executing processes for data validation, cleansing, and accuracy
• Assess and select suitable data analytics and science tools to address business needs, leading requirement meetings and collaborating with stages and infrastructure teams during assessment and implementation
• Collaborate with engineering and development teams to create and maintain documentation for data analytics processes, reporting structures, and data models
• Monitor the performance of data analytics and science solutions, providing technical leadership to drive security and flexibility of data products and reporting solutions
• Implement measures to optimize performance and troubleshoot issues
• Provide critical insights and recommendations based on data analysis to support decision-making at the organizational level
• Recommend infrastructure upgrades to support business growth and advancing technology needs
• Utilize arenaflex services, such as Azure SQL DW (Neurotransmitter), ADLS, Azure Event Hub, Azure, Data bricks, Delta-Lake, to improve and accelerate delivery of our data products and services
• Develop large data and NoSQL solutions by creating adaptable data processing stages to drive high-value insights to the organization

Requirements

* Proven track record of at least 15 years of active experience in data analytics and science roles

• 5 years of experience in leadership or senior roles, demonstrating the ability to effectively guide and lead a team
• 5 years of experience working with cloud technologies, such as ADLS, Azure Databricks, Azure, Azure Neural Network, Universe DB, DBT, and other big data innovations
• Advanced proficiency in data analytics tools, languages, ML, and frameworks (e.g., Conos, PowerBI, SQL, Python, R)
• Capability in data visualization tools, such as Tableau, Power BI, or similar tools to effectively communicate insights
• Demonstrated ability in working with cloud platforms, such as AWS, Azure, or Google Cloud, to design and implement adaptable and efficient data analytics solutions
• In-depth understanding and practical application of Lakehouse design standards, combining the best of data lakes and data warehouses for powerful and adaptable data management
• High-level SQL skills. Strong understanding of social databases and business data storage to write complex SQL queries against multiple data sources
• Experience managing high-volume and high-speed data streams, and designing systems that can handle the demands of real-time or near-real-time analysis
• Experience in shaping the strategic vision for data analytics and science drives within an organization
• Effective management of data analytics projects, including planning, execution, and delivery
• Demonstrated ability to drive innovation, adapt to emerging technologies, and implement industry best practices
• Demonstrated ability to take ownership and accountability of critical issues and resolve them to closure
• Strong critical thinking and problem-solving skills

Preferred Qualifications

* Bachelor's or Master's degree in Computer Science, Informatics, Data Science, or related technical discipline

• Relevant industry certifications are a plus
• Experience in retail, manufacturing, e-commerce, or supply chain

Compensation and Benefits

* Salary range: $160,000 - $230,000

• Bonus and Restricted Stock Unit Eligible
