Estimator
About This Role: Cardinal is seeking an Estimator to join our dynamic and growing team. As an Estimator, you will support the business at large and help improve workplace communication and efficiency. You will conduct yourself as a leader with high integrity and excellent attention to detail. Responsibilities: As an Estimator, you will: Collect different quotes from subcontractors, vendors, and suppliers Identify and analyze labor, material costs, and time requirements, by searching proposals, blueprints, project plans, and any related documents to gain a thorough understanding of the project Analyze company data, monitor budgets and prices using software packages Determine what factors of production will influence the cost of a service or product Prepare material estimates and cost estimates for the product or service Create labor estimates for any project Develop and maintain relationships with company vendors and contractors Manage bids from vendors and contractors Use bid data to prepare detailed cost analysis/estimate reports Present prepared estimates to management and other stakeholders Compile and record actual costs Review and assess cost estimates Source new opportunities Manage Win/Loss tracking and reporting Manage competitor list (cross-reference with Win/Loss tracking) Qualifications: EDUCATION: Associates Degree in Business, Construction, or Engineering. Bachelor's Degree Preferred. EXPERIENCE: Surveying experience (in and out of the office) 5 year minimum, and Site Construction experience of at least 5 years. KNOWLEDGE OF: Microsoft Office (required) Bluebeam Revu SKILLS/ABILITIES: Proficiency in mathematics, statistics and data analysis Excellent analytical skills and attention to detail Report writing and strategic planning skills Familiarity with analyzing requirement data to develop material and cost estimates for large projects Expertise with analytic tools, such as spreadsheets and database managers Ability to read and interpret technical documents Excellent written communication and interpersonal skills Exceptional time management skills Writing – including technical Time Management and Prioritization Detail Oriented Physical Requirements: The physical demands described herein are representative of those that an employee must meet to perform the essential function of this job successfully: · Must be able to lift and carry or otherwise move 25/50/80 pounds regularly/occasionally · Must be able to drive a vehicle safely regular/occasionally · Must be able to deal effectively and reasonably with stress in the workplace without lost time or undue strain · Must be able to sit, walk, talk, and hear for extended periods of time · Must be able to type/key-in data and answer telephones frequently as needed · Must have specific vision abilities including close vision, distance vision, color vision, depth perception, and ability to focus · Must be able to see and respond to dangerous situations · Must be able to wear personal protective gear regularly/occasionally · Physical ability work including bending, squatting, reaching, stretching, sitting, standing, running, and climbing stairs · Must adhere to company policies, safety plan, and the project safety plan About Us: Cardinal Civil Resources (“CCR”) is a fun, productive business dedicated to the success of our employees, clients, and our communities.
