Job Summary
We are seeking an experienced full stack data scientist to join our Clinical Trial group at arenaflex. As a data scientist, you will be responsible for producing high-quality, actionable insights from real-world evidence (RWE) and real-world data (RWD) to support biopharmaceutical RWE and clinical trial requests. You will work closely with cross-functional teams to design and execute analytics strategies, develop and maintain data pipelines, and build dashboards and reports to support business decisions.
Key Responsibilities
* Develop and maintain data pipelines to extract, transform, and load (ETL) data from various sources, including in-house data properties and certified systems
- Design and execute advanced analytics and statistical models to analyze RWE/RWD and identify new insights about patient populations and treatment outcomes
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to develop and implement analytics strategies that support business decisions and drive growth
- Build and maintain dashboards, reports, and other visualizations to communicate insights and results to stakeholders
- Conduct due diligence on new RWE companies and evaluate RWD quality to inform investment decisions
- Stay up-to-date with industry trends and advancements in data science and analytics, and apply this knowledge to improve processes and outcomes
Essential Qualifications
* Bachelor's degree or higher in a quantitative or computational field, such as computer science, mathematics, statistics, or engineering
- At least 4 years of experience in a quantitative or computational role, with a strong focus on data analysis and interpretation
- Proficiency in programming languages such as R, Python, or SQL, with experience in designing and executing strong and reproducible statistical analyses
- Knowledge of common statistical testing methods, including generalized linear models, classification and regression trees, decision trees, unsupervised learning, time series analysis, and survival analysis
- Experience working with large datasets from various sources, including electronic health records (EHRs), claims databases, and other healthcare data sources
- Familiarity with data visualization tools such as Tableau, Power BI, Alteryx, Spotfire, or other business intelligence (BI) tools
Preferred Qualifications
* Ph.D. or Master's degree in a field such as statistics, biostatistics, computer science, mathematics, or engineering
- Expertise in EMR/Health IT, disease registries, and claims databases
- Knowledge of clinical data standards, clinical terminologies, and managed vocabularies used in healthcare data and ontologies (ICD9/10/ReadCode)
- Experience with Good Clinical Practice (GCP) and/or regulatory compliance guidelines for RWE research or clinical trials (e.g., ISO, MDD/MDR, CFR)
- Experience working with alternative data sources and alternative methods of healthcare data collection, particularly those enabled by technology systems and/or solutions
- Familiarity with experimental design, Bayesian modeling, sequential data, and computational statistics
