Texas High School Science / Math Teacher Advisor (Part-Time Advisory Role)
About the Opportunity HomeWorld Educational Resources is seeking a small group of Texas high school science and mathematics teachers to join the Teacher Advisory Board for Power Lone Star Hero , an innovative AI-powered STEM learning project designed to connect Texas students with real-world careers in science, engineering, AI, and the Texas energy industry. This project is developing an AI-powered workforce digital twin, teacher co-pilot, and role-playing STEM learning environment that helps students explore authentic career pathways through TEKS-aligned STEM challenges, AI mentoring, and experiential project-based learning. Teacher Advisors will play an important role in helping shape the educational design, classroom feasibility, and TEKS alignment of this innovative learning platform.
What You Will Do
Selected Teacher Advisors may help:
- Review and provide feedback on
TEKS-aligned STEM learning modules
- Evaluate classroom feasibility of AI-powered learning activities
- Test prototype STEM project and simulation concepts
- Provide educator feedback on AI mentor interactions
- Support development of authentic project-based learning experiences
- Participate in virtual co-design and feedback workshops
- Share classroom insights related to student engagement, STEM learning, and career readiness
Who We Are Looking For Preferred applicants include Texas educators with experience in:
- High school
science
- High school
mathematics
- STEM / engineering education
- Environmental science
- Physics / chemistry / Earth science
- Computer science / data science
- Career & Technical Education (CTE)
- Project-based STEM learning
Minimum qualifications:
- Current or recent experience teaching
Texas high school students (grades 9–12)
- Familiarity with TEKS-based instruction
- Interest in STEM innovation, career readiness, AI, or experiential learning
Commitment Planning Stage Advisory Role
- Approximately
8–15 total hours over 2 months
- Flexible virtual participation
- Includes workshops, reviews, and feedback sessions
CompensationIf project funding is awarded: Selected Teacher Advisors may receive: Up to $1,500 stipend support for planning-stage advisory participation and pilot feedback activities.
