Senior Process Development Chemist

Our client is a leader in specialty chemical manufacturing and is actively seeking a talented Senior Process Development Chemist to join our esteemed, fully remote research division. This pivotal role will focus on optimizing and scaling up chemical processes for novel product development. You will leverage your deep understanding of chemical engineering principles and reaction kinetics to improve efficiency, yield, and safety in our manufacturing operations. The position demands a proactive approach to problem-solving and a commitment to innovation in chemical synthesis and purification. Key Responsibilities: Lead the development and optimization of chemical processes from laboratory scale to pilot plant and commercial scale. Conduct thorough process hazard analyses (PHAs) and implement safety protocols. Design and execute experiments to understand critical process parameters and identify areas for improvement. Utilize process modeling and simulation tools to predict process behavior and optimize conditions. Troubleshoot and resolve complex technical issues that arise during process scale-up and production. Collaborate with R&D chemists, engineers, and manufacturing personnel to ensure seamless technology transfer. Prepare detailed technical reports, documentation, and present findings to stakeholders. Stay current with emerging technologies and industry best practices in process chemistry. Contribute to the intellectual property portfolio through patent applications and disclosures. This is a remote-first opportunity, allowing you to work from a home office anywhere in the US. You will be expected to contribute significantly to our pipeline of innovative chemical solutions. A strong background in organic synthesis, physical organic chemistry, and reaction engineering is essential. Experience with various analytical techniques (GC, HPLC, MS, NMR) for process monitoring and characterization is also required. The ideal candidate will possess excellent project management skills, the ability to work effectively in a fast-paced environment, and a strong publication record or relevant industrial experience. A Ph.D. or Master's degree in Chemistry or Chemical Engineering, with a specialization in process chemistry or a related field, is mandatory.
