Process Development Chemist
Our client is revolutionizing the chemical industry and seeks a talented Process Development Chemist to join their fully remote team. This role is crucial for the advancement of innovative chemical processes, focusing on scalability, efficiency, and sustainability. You will be instrumental in designing, optimizing, and troubleshooting chemical synthesis routes and manufacturing processes. Your work will involve laboratory-scale experimentation, pilot plant trials, and technology transfer to manufacturing. Key Responsibilities: Design and execute experiments to develop and optimize chemical synthesis processes for new and existing products. Analyze and interpret experimental data to understand reaction mechanisms, kinetics, and thermodynamics. Develop robust and scalable manufacturing processes that meet safety, environmental, and economic requirements. Troubleshoot and resolve process-related issues encountered during development and scale-up. Conduct literature reviews and stay abreast of the latest advancements in chemical engineering and process chemistry. Prepare detailed technical reports, development summaries, and patent applications. Collaborate closely with research scientists, engineers, and manufacturing personnel to ensure successful technology transfer. Utilize process modeling and simulation tools to predict and optimize process performance. Contribute to the development of novel chemical technologies and intellectual property. Ensure all work complies with company safety policies and regulatory guidelines. Qualifications: A Master's or Ph.D. in Chemistry, Chemical Engineering, or a related field is required. Minimum of 3-5 years of experience in process chemistry, process development, or scale-up within the chemical or pharmaceutical industry. Strong understanding of organic synthesis, reaction engineering, and separation technologies. Proficiency in analytical techniques (e.g., HPLC, GC, NMR, MS). Experience with statistical design of experiments (DoE) and data analysis is highly desirable. Excellent problem-solving and critical-thinking skills. Ability to work independently and manage multiple projects simultaneously in a remote environment. Strong communication and interpersonal skills for effective collaboration with a virtual team.
