Job Description:

As an Online Chat Text Supervisor, you will play a vital role in ensuring the smooth operation of our 988 Crisis Chat Program. This program provides emotional support to individuals in crisis, offering intervention, resources, and referrals to those in need. You will be responsible for supervising a team of Crisis Chat Counselors, providing guidance, support, and feedback to ensure the highest level of quality care.

Key Responsibilities:

- Provides supervision to Crisis Chat Counselors, ensuring they receive the necessary support and guidance to deliver exceptional care. - Conducts regular quality assurance reviews to ensure compliance with program standards and policies. - Develops and implements training programs for new Crisis Chat Counselors, ensuring they are equipped to handle crisis situations effectively. - Collaborates with the Assistant Director of Crisis Services to discuss program operations, concerns, and potential improvements. - Participates in supervision, in-service training, and staff meetings to maintain good working relationships and contribute to a positive team environment. - Responds to crisis chat/text visitors as needed, providing support and guidance to Counselors on shift. - Ensures thorough documentation is completed for all crisis chat/text interactions. - Conducts weekly individual supervision sessions with Counselors, providing feedback and guidance to enhance their performance. - Completes weekly quality assurance reports with Counselors, identifying areas for improvement and implementing changes as needed. - Provides performance evaluations and yearly reviews, ensuring Counselors receive constructive feedback and support. - Develops and implements strategies to improve program outcomes, including increasing the number of chats/texts responded to and improving Counselor performance metrics.

Essential Qualifications:

- Bachelor's degree in a related field, such as counseling, social work, or psychology. - Master's degree in a related field preferred. - 1 year of experience in mental health services, preferably in crisis intervention and support services. - Excellent oral and written communication skills. - Ability to function successfully in an environment requiring immediate response to urgent situations. - Spontaneous supervision of staff in real-time. - Knowledge of and familiarity with local and statewide community resources. - Analytical and problem-solving skills. - Computer skills with various software, including Microsoft Products.

Preferred Qualifications:

- Experience working in a crisis intervention and support services setting. - Familiarity with crisis chat and text services. - Certification in crisis intervention and support services. - Experience working with diverse populations, including individuals from diverse cultural, socioeconomic, and linguistic backgrounds.

Skills and Competencies:

- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills. - Ability to work independently and as part of a team. - Strong analytical and problem-solving skills. - Ability to adapt to changing situations and priorities. - Familiarity with crisis intervention and support services software and technology. - Ability to maintain confidentiality and handle sensitive information.
