Commercial Lines Account Manager (Remote)
Who We Are Petra Risk Solutions is a growing commercial insurance brokerage with a track record of delivering for our clients and our people. We're adding an experienced Commercial Lines Account Manager to our team — someone who's ready to manage a book of business and hit the ground running. We invest in the people who join us. That means access to professional development, ongoing training, and a team environment where expertise is shared and careers are built. WHAT YOU'LL DO As a Commercial Lines Account Manager, you'll manage a portfolio of commercial accounts and serve as a trusted point of contact for clients, carriers, and an internal service team. Day-to-day, that looks like: Client & Account Management
- Serve as the primary relationship manager for an assigned book of commercial accounts, proactively communicating with clients to gather renewal information, binding conditions, and subjectivities
- Review policies, endorsements, audits, and applications for accuracy — flagging and resolving discrepancies before they become E&O exposures
- Request and coordinate property valuation reports as needed
Carrier & Submissions Work
- Prepare and submit endorsement requests to carriers and follow through to completion
- Build account submissions and support the sales team with proposals and presentation materials
Team & Operations
- Mentor and delegate appropriate tasks to Assistant Account Managers
- Maintain organized electronic files and a reliable suspense/follow-up system to keep accounts moving without anything slipping through the cracks
- Invoice endorsements, audits, and policies accurately and on time
- Keep records current in the agency management system (TAM/Epic)
WHAT YOU BRING Experience & Credentials
- 5+ years of commercial lines insurance experience, ideally in a brokerage or agency environment
- Active Property & Casualty license (required)
- Bachelor's degree preferred, though equivalent experience in lieu of a degree is welcome
Technical Knowledge
- Solid working knowledge of commercial insurance coverages across multiple lines, with the ability to read, analyze, and interpret policies, endorsements, and coverage documents
- Comfortable with pro-rata calculations, audit math, and basic accounting concepts that come up regularly in account management
- Proficient in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, Outlook) and agency management systems; Applied Epic/TAM experience is a plus
How You Work
- You communicate clearly and professionally — with clients, carriers, and teammates — and you understand that relationships are at the core of this business
- You manage a busy workflow without letting things fall through the cracks, and you're proactive about following up before anyone has to ask
- You take accuracy seriously, particularly when it comes to documentation and file management, where errors carry real consequences
- You stay curious about the industry — new products, coverage developments, and regulatory changes — because you want to keep getting better at what you do
