Job Summary

As a Remote Healthcare Billing and Customer Service Representative, you will work as an extended business office representative on behalf of our clients, providing exceptional patient advocacy and account resolution services. You will be responsible for:

  • Using empathy and fantastic listening, verbal, and written communication skills to help patients and their families understand confusing and often unexpected medical bills
  • Providing outstanding customer service and collaborating with patients over the phone on affordable payment plans and taking payments by phone
  • Using your computer proficiency, organization, and attention to detail to accurately document all calls and follow-ups in our software systems throughout each day
  • Supporting your fellow team members with consistent attendance, excellent work ethic, and caring team focus
  • Continuously improving, with supportive coaching/feedback from your manager and team leads and ongoing training

Key Responsibilities:

* Provide empathetic and personalized support to patients and their families, addressing their concerns and questions about medical bills and account balances

  • Collaborate with patients to develop and implement affordable payment plans, ensuring timely payments and resolution of account balances
  • Accurately document all calls and follow-ups in our software systems, maintaining accurate and up-to-date records
  • Support team members with consistent attendance, excellent work ethic, and caring team focus, contributing to a positive and productive work environment
  • Continuously improve skills and knowledge, with supportive coaching/feedback from managers and team leads, and ongoing training

Essential Qualifications:

* High school diploma or equivalent required; associate's or bachelor's degree in a related field preferred

  • 1-2 years of experience in customer service, healthcare, or a related field
  • Excellent communication, listening, and interpersonal skills
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment, prioritizing multiple tasks and deadlines
  • Strong computer proficiency, with experience using software systems and technology
  • Ability to maintain confidentiality and handle sensitive information with discretion
  • Strong problem-solving and analytical skills, with ability to think critically and creatively

Preferred Qualifications:

* Experience working in a healthcare setting or with patients and families

  • Knowledge of medical billing and insurance processes
  • Certification in customer service or a related field
  • Bilingual or multilingual skills
