Responsibilities

As a Data Engineer on our OA team, you'll be responsible for:

• Locating and extracting data from various sources to support analysis, modeling, and project development
• Cleaning and curating datasets by identifying new data sources and collaborating with cross-functional teams to determine the best source of data
• Developing and maintaining automated reporting and analysis tools to support divisional leaders and business stakeholders
• Leveraging emerging technologies and proactively identifying new and innovative approaches to communicate data and insights that meet business needs
• Supporting strategy development and project control engagements for business units and cross-functional initiatives
• Training and mentoring team members on various skills and topics
• Practicing security-aware behaviors in all operational practices and procedures
• Embodying a team-first mindset with the success of our team and business partners as the top priority
• Being intellectually curious, asking questions, and communicating ideas effectively
• Working in high-profile environments with fluid priorities, ambiguity, and competitive deadlines

What You Need to Succeed (Minimum Qualifications)

* 3+ years of experience in a related field

• Proficiency in SQL and ETL/ELT patterns
• Proficiency with Python, SAS, or other comparable tools and programming languages
• Ability to troubleshoot a reporting database environment
• Strong attention to detail and ability to work autonomously with multiple requests and timelines
• Self-starter with a resilient, solution-minded approach to complex problems
• Consistently prioritizes security and protection of self, others, and personal data
• Embraces diverse perspectives, thinking, and styles
• Possesses a high school diploma, GED, or equivalent
• Is at least 18 years of age and has authorization to work in the United States

What Will Give You a Competitive Edge (Preferred Qualifications)

* Bachelor's degree or certificate in Computer Science, Engineering, Information Science, or other quantitative field

• Previous airline experience
• Working knowledge of and/or experience with cloud-based solutions (i.e., Azure, AWS, GPC, etc.)
