Remote Sales Manager / Senior Closer — Deal Recovery + Closer Support

Project GreyFox is hiring a remote Sales Manager to join our leadership team. This person will work directly with our traveling closers as the inside-sales backbone of our operation — managing deal flow, supporting closers in real time, recovering unconverted opportunities, and owning the QA function that protects deal quality. This is a 1099 role. Work-from-home after initial training. Built for a senior closer with management instincts who wants ownership of a function, not just a quota. Position Overview You're the inside-sales counterpart to our field closers. Closers run in-home appointments during blitzes; you run the office side of the operation that supports them. The role has three core functions: 1. Deal Recovery (the biggest commission driver) Closers have until the end of their blitz to convert each appointment. Any deal that isn't closed by the time the blitz wraps drops into your queue. You'll call the homeowner back from a quality-assurance angle — reviewing the proposal, surfacing concerns the closer didn't fully resolve, offering manager-level tools (rebates, payment deferrals, financing flexibility), and working the deal toward a close. Any deal you save is split 50/50 with the original closer. 2. Closer Support / Take-Over (TO) Calls While closers are sitting in homes, they'll patch you in when they need a manager voice — to add urgency, authorize a concession, or break a stalemate. You're the senior voice on the other end of the line: trained, professional, and able to close from a position of authority. This is where experienced closers earn their reputation. 3. QA Oversight A dedicated QA specialist handles the line-by-line review of proposals, photos, and paperwork. You oversee the function — setting the standard, spot-checking work, resolving issues the QA specialist escalates, and ultimately owning the quality of deals that go out the door to our solar partner. Clean submissions move fast; sloppy ones cost everyone money. You're the standard-bearer; the QA specialist is your execution arm.

Compensation

  • $100 override on every closer-originated deal you QA and submit
  • 50/50 commission split on every deal you personally save from the unconverted pipeline
  • 1099 independent contractor
  • No base salary

The override scales directly with team production. As we add closers and run more blitzes, your override income grows with the operation. The save commissions are pure performance — every recovered deal is found money for the company and a meaningful check for you. Realistic earnings depend on team production and your save rate, but this is structured to be a healthy 6-figure role from the start, with significant upside as the team scales. Schedule

  • Minimum availability: 8:00 AM – 6:00 PM Eastern, Monday through Friday
  • Flexibility within those hours: You set your own day-to-day schedule, but you're reachable to closers on blitz during these windows
  • Saturday coverage during active blitzes: Light availability for TO calls and same-day deal submissions
  • Fully remote after initial training

Training One week of in-person training at our Upstate South Carolina office prior to going fully remote. Travel and lodging during training are fully covered. After training, the role is 100% remote. Who We're Looking For This is not a developmental role. You should walk in with:

  • A proven closing track record in high-ticket sales — solar, roofing, HVAC, windows, water treatment, bath remodel, or similar in-home / phone consultative sales
  • Prior experience as a sales manager, deal-desk lead, or senior closer running TO calls — you've been the voice on the other end of the phone before, and you know how to handle it
  • Comfort working entirely virtually — you don't need a room full of reps around you to perform
  • Operational discipline — overseeing QA requires attention to detail, not just sales chops
  • A leadership presence — closers need to respect your voice on a TO call within the first 10 seconds

Requirements

  • 5+ years in sales, with management or deal-desk experience
  • Demonstrated success closing high-ticket consultative deals
  • Authorized to work in the US (W-9 required)
  • Available for one week of in-person training in Upstate South Carolina (travel and lodging covered)
  • Professional home work environment with reliable internet
  • Comfort with CRM systems, virtual proposal tools, and standard sales software
