Remote Civil Engineering Jobs
This role is for a Civil Engineer focusing on Mission Critical Data Center projects within the Community Development Group. The engineer will work on Data Center projects of various sizes across the country, serving Fortune 10 companies and other major commercial programs. Projects require a proactive, responsive, and efficient design team to handle site due diligence, design, entitlement approvals, permitting, and construction across multiple geographic regions. React flexibly to dynamic project needs on tight timelines and fast‑paced schedules. Apply civil engineering concepts (site layout, grading, utility design, etc.) Perform civil design and technical tasks under supervision, including site design, grading, drainage, utility, erosion and sediment control, specifications, and project details. Evaluate, select, specify, and engineer all civil engineered systems or products for a project. Develop design through sketches, electronic models, diagrams, and other visual formats. Prepare and revise documentation in various civil phases: site plans, grading plans, utility plans, diagrams, and details. Lead project coordination meetings with internal team members, external consultants, owners, contractors, sub‑contractors, and vendors. Participate in client requirement meetings, value analysis, and basic cost estimating. Assist senior engineers with managing project scope, budget, staffing, and schedule. Lead the preparation and coordination of project specifications with construction documents. Conduct calculations using company standard software and proprietary manufacturer software. Perform quality assurance and quality control on own projects. Work on multiple projects concurrently. Knowledge and application of National Civil Code and applicable energy codes. Understanding of all phases of project document production and the relationship between drawings and specifications. Strong knowledge of civil systems, means and methods, materials, and industry standards. Effective communication of project issues with clients and reviewing agencies. Ability to check the work of others for accuracy and completeness and manage time to meet project budget and schedule. Participation and collaboration in a project team setting and engagement in creative and critical thinking. Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite and relevant design software such as AutoCAD Civil3D, GIS, HEC‑RAS, HEC‑HMS, StormCAD, WaterCAD, HydroCAD. Bachelor’s degree or equivalent in Engineering. Office Environment Typical office environment with prolonged computer use. Field work may involve exposure to the elements and inclement weather.
