Position Summary
As a Customer Service Representative, you'll be responsible for:
- Responding to initial patient-family requests and providing detailed explanations of patient billing information
- Resolving patient-family questions and concerns in a timely and professional manner
- Collaborating with other departments to research patient billing history and resolve outstanding issues
- Consistently demonstrating excellent customer service and communication skills
- Working closely with patients, families, and internal teams to ensure seamless communication and resolution
Key Responsibilities
* Respond to patient inquiries and resolve billing-related issues in a timely and professional manner
- Provide detailed explanations of patient billing information and resolve patient-family questions and concerns
- Collaborate with other departments to research patient billing history and resolve outstanding issues
- Utilize strong problem-solving and analytical skills to resolve complex issues
- Maintain accurate and up-to-date records of patient interactions and billing information
- Participate in ongoing training and professional development to stay current on billing and follow-up processes
Essential Qualifications
* High School Diploma or equivalent work experience
- 3-5 years of customer service experience
- Experience working with a wide variety of PC applications
- Working knowledge of billing and follow-up processes
- Excellent customer service and communication skills
- Knowledge of HIPAA privacy standards and PCI compliance regulations
- Proficient use of systems (computer, applications, phone systems)
- Basic knowledge of medical terminology
- Detail-oriented, good organizational skills, and ability to be self-directed
- Strong time management skills, managing multiple priorities and a heavy workload in a high-stress atmosphere
Preferred Qualifications
* Experience working in a healthcare setting or with patients and families
- Knowledge of medical billing and coding principles
- Certification in customer service or a related field
- Bilingual or multilingual skills
