The Opportunity Lesley University’s Department of Psychology+ is seeking a qualified Adjunct Faculty member to teach: CPSYC 2451 - Yoga Mental/Emotional Health; Summer Semester 2026; Tuesdays 6:00 - 9:00pm; Fully Remote. Course Description: This course explores how yoga can be used as a tool to support mental and emotional health. Drawing on the philosophical and theoretical principles of yoga, students will learn how yoga postures, breathing techniques, and mindfulness meditation can promote emotional balance, healing, and personal growth. Special emphasis will be placed on mental health topics of primary concern to college students, including depression, anxiety, body image, trauma, and addiction. Students will engage in a variety of yoga practices designed to develop practical skills that strengthen their capacity for inner witness consciousness, self-soothing, grounding, and self-regulation. Students will also be guided in developing and maintaining a personal yoga practice tailored to their individual health needs and will complete a research project related to a topic of personal health interest. Qualities and Capabilities A successful candidate will have: A Master’s degree in Psychology or a related field Demonstrated success teaching at the undergraduate level Prior experience with yoga practice Experience in constructivist, inquiry-based learning Excellent verbal and written communication skills Why Lesley Located in the heart of Cambridge, Massachusetts, Lesley University is highly regarded for its graduate and undergraduate programs in the human arts of education, the arts, and applied social sciences.
