Job Summary

We are seeking an experienced Customer Service Guide to join our Eugene team. As a Customer Service Guide, you will be responsible for providing resources and services to help individuals and families move out of poverty and towards whole well-being. You will work closely with program staff to provide specialized assistance, answer case status and other inquiries, and provide information on how to access community resources.

Key Responsibilities

* Provide specialized assistance to individuals and families seeking services, including answering case status and other inquiries, and providing information on how to access community resources.

  • Work closely with program staff to provide resources and services to help individuals and families move out of poverty and towards whole well-being.
  • Greet and assist Oregonians in a trauma-informed lens, providing culturally appropriate services that recognize, affirm, and value the worth of children, individuals, families, and communities.
  • Collaborate with a team to rotate tasks and support the business needs of the office.
  • Provide information and referrals to individuals and families, including explaining complex information such as rules or procedures verbally and in writing.
  • Meet or exceed specific goals and objectives, independently identifying, assessing, and resolving barriers or inefficiencies.

Essential Qualifications

* Two years of experience interviewing to obtain personal or technical information or substantial people contact, with a high volume of paperwork (e.g., assuring information on forms is complete and accurate, completing necessary documents, etc.).

  • College-level courses may be substituted for the experience on a year-for-year basis.
  • Experience providing customer service to a high volume of diverse customers in a manner that demonstrates active listening and compassion.
  • Experience communicating with resolving conflicts/disputes with customers and developing meaningful relationships with colleagues that foster trust, inclusivity, and respect.
  • Experience with computer skills, including usage and functionality of computers, web browsers, Microsoft programs, quality keyboarding, and multiline telephone, email communication, and learning new web-based platforms.
  • Experience using multiple systems in tandem for research and tracking details for each customer or case and eliciting information from applicants/recipients for a program/service.

Preferred Qualifications

* Experience working in a human services setting, including knowledge of programs and services such as food benefits, cash assistance, childcare assistance, services for domestic violence survivors, resources for refugees, and support for youth experiencing homelessness.

  • Experience working with diverse populations, including individuals with disabilities, veterans, and individuals from diverse cultural backgrounds.
  • Experience working in a fast-paced environment with a high volume of individual and family contact.
  • Experience working in a team environment, with a focus on collaboration and communication.

* Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work effectively with diverse populations.

  • Strong problem-solving and analytical skills, with the ability to identify and resolve barriers or inefficiencies.
