Job Summary
We are seeking an experienced Crisis Intervention Specialist to join our 24/7 mental health crisis/suicide prevention team. As a Crisis Intervention Specialist, you will be responsible for providing telephonic or chat clinical screenings and risk assessments to individuals who are experiencing emotional distress. You will also be responsible for answering crisis contacts via the chat/text platform, conducting follow-up calls for individuals who are deemed moderate to high risk for suicide, and providing service linkage and referrals for programs, services, and other community resources.
Key Responsibilities
* Provide telephonic or chat clinical screenings and risk assessments to individuals who are experiencing emotional distress
- Answer crisis contacts via the chat/text platform to assess for suicide, safety, and identify appropriate community resources to best meet individual needs
- Conduct follow-up calls for individuals who are deemed moderate to high risk for suicide
- Meet the ethical and clinical standards in compliance with all accreditation
- Actively participate in ongoing supervision, training, and team meetings
- Assist in administrative tasks as needed
Essential Qualifications
* Bachelor's degree in behavioral science, psychology, social work, or a related field
- Certified Peer Recovery Specialist (CPRS) certification
- Six months to one year of related crisis experience
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills
- Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and prioritize multiple tasks
- Knowledge of suicide assessments and crisis intervention techniques
Preferred Qualifications
* Master's degree in behavioral science, psychology, social work, or a related field
- Experience working in a crisis intervention or mental health setting
- Certification in crisis intervention or a related field
- Bilingual or multilingual skills
Skills and Competencies
* Effectively communicate via written, verbal, in-person, and virtual methods
- Demonstrates high-level customer service skills and professional etiquette
- Knowledge of suicide assessments and crisis intervention techniques
- Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and prioritize multiple tasks
- Strong problem-solving and critical thinking skills
