Job Summary
We are seeking an experienced Full Stack Data Engineer to join our Item Execution and Instrumentation Group. As a Senior Data Engineer, you will be responsible for designing, building, and deploying scalable data pipelines and systems that support arenaflex's business objectives. You will work closely with cross-functional teams to identify business needs, design solutions, and implement data-driven initiatives that drive growth and profitability.
Key Responsibilities
* Design, build, and deploy scalable data pipelines and systems using Scala, Python, and other programming languages
- Collaborate with data engineers, data scientists, and business stakeholders to identify business needs and design solutions
- Develop and maintain ETL pipelines in Big Data environments (cloud, on-prem, hybrid)
- Implement Lakehouse engineering, working with key partners to move towards a Lakehouse-driven data platform
- Work with AWS, Snowflake, Databricks, Delta Lake, and other cloud-based technologies to design and deploy scalable data systems
- Collaborate with data engineers, data scientists, and business stakeholders to design, execute, and deliver effective data solutions
- Maintain detailed documentation of work and changes to ensure data quality and data governance
- Ensure high functional proficiency and quality of solutions to meet SLAs and support obligations to our clients (Data Science, Data Engineering teams)
- Participate in agile/scrum practices to ensure safety and collaboration upgrades for the team
- Act as a problem solver, researching and organizing to find solutions to new challenges
- Identify business issues and opportunities to automate processes and streamline costs
- Engage with and understand our clients, forming relationships that enable us to understand and focus on both innovative new offerings and steady platform upgrades
Required Education, Experience/Abilities/Training
* Strong algorithmic thinking ability
- Strong SQL skills and ability to write queries to extract data and build performant datasets
- Active experience with deployed systems, such as Databricks and PySpark, to query and handle data
- Strong key Scala and Python programming skills
- Strong hands-on experience with Cloud technologies like AWS (S3, EMR, EC2)
- Experience with at least one major MPP or cloud database technology (Ideally Snowflake, Redshift, Large Query)
- Strong experience with data integration toolsets (i.e. Wind current) and writing and maintaining data pipelines with Databricks
- Experience in Data Modeling procedures and Data Warehousing standard approaches and practices
- Familiarity with Scrum and Agile approaches
- Demonstrated excellent interpersonal skills, including ability to work with others and build consensus in a cross-functional team towards an optimal result
Required Education
* Four-year degree in Computer Science, Data Systems or related field, or equivalent work experience
