The Role
As a Union Benefits Specialist, you'll play a critical role in educating members about the benefits available to them through their union affiliation. Your primary responsibility will be to provide exceptional customer service, answering questions, and addressing concerns in a timely and professional manner. You'll also have the opportunity to upsell additional benefits to clients who are interested, but only if they express a desire to do so. No cold calling or aggressive sales tactics are required – just a genuine passion for helping others and a willingness to learn and grow.
Key Responsibilities
* Provide exceptional customer service to union members, answering questions and addressing concerns in a timely and professional manner
- Educate members about the benefits available to them through their union affiliation
- Upsell additional benefits to clients who express a desire to do so (no cold calling or aggressive sales tactics)
- Collaborate with internal teams to resolve complex issues and ensure seamless service delivery
- Stay up-to-date on industry trends and developments to provide expert advice and guidance to clients
- Participate in ongoing training and professional development to enhance skills and knowledge
Essential Qualifications
* 2+ years of experience in customer service or a related field
- Proven track record of delivering exceptional customer service in a fast-paced environment
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to build rapport with clients and colleagues
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team, with a strong focus on collaboration and teamwork
- Flexibility to work a variety of shifts, including evenings and weekends (as needed)
- Fluency in English (bilingual in any language is a plus, but not required)
Preferred Qualifications
* Experience working with labor unions, credit unions, or associations
- Knowledge of benefits and insurance products
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to think critically and creatively
- Experience with CRM software and other customer service tools
- Certification in customer service or a related field (e.g. Certified Customer Service Representative)
