Freelance Cyber Security Specialist

To support upcoming client engagements, we are expanding our freelance network with experienced Cyber Security Specialists. Location: Belgium / Remote (hybrid possible) Preferred start date: flexibel Languages: English + Dutch or French speaking Your role As a Freelance Cyber Security Specialist, you will support clients across various industries (finance, public sector, healthcare, manufacturing, utilities, etc.) in strengthening their security posture and managing cyber risks. Depending on the assignment, your responsibilities may include: Assessing security risks, vulnerabilities, and compliance gaps Designing and implementing cyber security measures and architectures Supporting security operations, incident response, and remediation plans Conducting security assessments, audits, and penetration tests (or coordinating them) Advising clients on best practices, governance, and security roadmaps Supporting projects in areas such as cloud security, IAM, network security, or application security Collaborating with architects, developers, IT, and business stakeholders Required Experience We are looking for freelancers with strong technical expertise and a consulting mindset: Proven experience as a Cyber Security Specialist, Consultant, or Engineer Solid knowledge of security domains such as: Network & infrastructure security Cloud security (Azure, AWS, or GCP) Identity & Access Management (IAM) Application & DevSecOps security Security monitoring, incident response, and SOC operations Familiarity with standards and frameworks such as ISO 27001, NIST, CIS, or SOC2 Experience with security tools (SIEM, EDR, vulnerability scanners, etc.) is a plus Strong communication skills, able to translate security topics to business stakeholders What we offer Access to challenging and impactful cyber security projects Collaboration with experienced adesso consultants across Belgium and Europe Transparent communication and pragmatic cooperation Flexible engagement models (remote / hybrid, project-based or time & material) Opportunity for long-term collaboration within the adesso freelance ecosyst Work in an international group with strong local expertise in Belgium.
