Job DetailsJob Location: Houston, TX 77024SALES MANAGER – FOOD SERVICE The Sales Manager – Foodservice is responsible for developing and expanding brands and accounts within an assigned territory. This role focuses on driving sales growth, building long-term customer relationships, and exceeding monthly, quarterly, and annual revenue and profitability targets for Mexilink’s Foodservice product lines. The position is remote and requires a dedicated home office. Your responsibilities will be: Meet weekly with Foodservice accounts, with a focus on increasing market share to achieve product volume minimums while maximizing profitability. Perform customer-facing meetings, proactively reaching out to customers to provide innovative solutions and sell the full Mexilink portfolio, with emphasis on Tajin. Establish and maintain senior-level relationships with prospects to drive new business acquisition. Collaborate with the Foodservice Director to implement and execute annual customer sales plans, including setting pricing policies to optimize profitability. Partner with Finance and Sales on new customer product quotes to ensure profitability and meet customer targets. Present Mexilink’s product portfolio to clients and distributors, including colleges, universities, and healthcare foodservice professionals to generate new business opportunities and drive brand awareness across foodservice and campus retail operations. Conduct quarterly business reviews with customers, covering volumes, product mix, trade spend, sample allocations, product specifications, and cost-saving initiatives. Utilize Microsoft Dynamics (CRM) weekly to document customer meetings, sales opportunities, forecasts, and contact management. Record weekly sales activities, including proposals, account reviews, product trials, and issue resolution. Serve as a product expert for customers, vendors, and internal departments by addressing and resolving inquiries and challenges. Monitor and report on market trends, competitor activities, and emerging opportunities for Mexilink’s product portfolio. Ensure prompt resolution of customer complaints by collaborating with vendors, customer service, and quality teams. Work with customer service on customer issues, ensuring pricing correctly reflects marketing/rebate programs, brokerage, and freight. Coordinate customer requests for new products, ensuring successful launches and performance. Communicate key information, including policy updates, pricing, product specifications, and POS materials to brokers, distributors and customers. Support food brokers by providing product training, conducting joint sales calls, and motivating and coordinating their activities to drive sales growth. Represent Mexilink at national trade shows and customer food shows to strengthen brand presence and secure sales opportunities. Qualifications 5+ year’s sales/marketing/development experience with a distributor, or with a company within the foodservice industry. Result-driven, have experience developing and executing highly impactful sales strategies. Highly strategic in identifying and pursuing new prospects, have excellent negotiation and presentation skills. Comfortable presenting in front of mid to senior level audiences. Ability to function at a high level with minimal supervision, stay organized and adjust to constantly changing priorities. Flexibility, sense of urgency and self-enthusiasm is important to succeed. An energetic, forward-thinking, and creative leader with high morals. Attention to details with the ability to multi-task in a high-paced environment. Able to work efficiently during both on-site and off-site events. Ability to translate corporate strategy into sales/business development successes and create ongoing relationships with operators. Ability to travel. Proven track record in building good relationships with external and internal customers. Excellent written and oral communication skills and must be able to communicate effectively across all levels of the organization. Demonstrated ability to achieve performance goals with minimal direction. Must thrive in an entrepreneurial environment. Promotional program development experience. Has experience creating and growing strong business relationships. Proven analytical skills and understanding of data and its applicability to the category. Computer literacy with expertise in MS Teams, Word, Excel and PowerPoint, MS Dynamics/ or other CRM. Physical demands: The team member must regularly lift and move up to 10 pounds and occasionally lift and/or move up to 25 pounds. While performing the duties of this Job, the team member is regularly required to sit; use hands to finger, handle, or feel and talk or hear. The team member is occasionally required to stand; walk; reach with hands and arms and stoop, kneel, crouch, or crawl.
