Our Technical Operations team comprises aircraft maintenance technicians, engineers, planners, ground equipment and facilities professionals, and supply chain teams, ensuring they’re well-equipped and ready to transport our customers to their desired destinations. Key Responsibilities: As an Assistant Manager- Quality Assurance in Technical Operations, you’ll play a key role in ensuring our fleet is safe, compliant, and ready for service. By advising a team of quality assurance (QA) specialists, you’ll coordinate compliance, regulatory adherence, and continuous improvement initiatives. You’ll be an integral part of a collaborative effort with aircraft maintenance technicians, engineers, and cross-functional teams to keep our operations efficient and safe.

Responsibilities

Include: Ensure compliance with United's Quality Assurance and Technical activities and government regulations. Guide policies, procedures, and regulatory requirements to the Quality Assurance (QA) team. Oversee administrative tasks and be a dedicated specialist in departmental technologies (SCEPTRE, QAAS, Dashboards, CASS). Support QA auditors by coordinating scheduled and unscheduled audits, investigations, and special projects to minimize operational impact. Lead or participate in efficiency-improving projects and streamline QA activities. Represent QA in meetings and working groups, addressing operational and compliance questions. Prepare and distribute scheduled and ad hoc reports. Perform additional tasks as required to maintain safety and regulatory standards. Note: This is a remote position with a 50% travel requirement. While the role is fully remote, we prefer candidates based near one of our hub locations: San Francisco, Los Angeles, Chicago, Denver, Newark, or Washington D.C. (IAD)

Qualifications

What’s needed to succeed (Minimum Qualifications): Bachelor’s degree in a relevant field or equivalent experience. 5 years of aircraft maintenance experience, with a minimum of 2 years in quality role Strong background and knowledge of aircraft maintenance systems and UA policies and procedures. Proficiency in Microsoft Office Strong communication and analytical skills. Willingness to work off-hours, including nights, weekends, and holidays. Ability to travel up to 50%, including internationally (valid passport required). Legal authorization to work in the United States without sponsorship. Reliable attendance is a must. What will help you propel from the pack (Preferred Qualifications): A&P License and/or Quality certification (e.g., ASQ, CASE, etc.). Strong leadership, presentation, and audit skills. The base pay range for this role is $89,965.00 to $117,212.00. The base salary range/hourly rate listed is dependent on job-related, factors such as experience, education, and skills. This position is also eligible for bonus and/or long-term incentive compensation awards.
