Architectural Designer (Retail Store Planning)

We are currently seeking an Architectural Designer to support large-scale retail store planning and design initiatives for one of the nation’s most recognized retail pharmacy organizations, Walgreens. This role is ideal for professionals who thrive in fast-paced production environments, can rapidly adapt to established workflows, and enjoy collaborating across design, planning, and construction teams to deliver accurate, scalable, and operationally sound retail environments. What You’ll Be Doing Prepare, revise, and maintain architectural drawing packages and store layouts Support high-volume retail planning initiatives across multiple concurrent projects Update test fits, fixture plans, and layout documentation based on evolving business requirements Review consultant drawing sets for quality, completeness, and alignment with established standards Execute markups and revisions using Bluebeam Revu and related collaboration tools Coordinate with internal stakeholders and external consultants to resolve design and documentation issues Incorporate redlines, comments, and revisions efficiently within aggressive delivery timelines Ensure drawing packages remain accurate, organized, and code compliant Support internal store planning and architectural leadership teams in maintaining execution velocity What We’re Looking For Required Skills 3–5 years of relevant architectural design or store planning experience Strong proficiency in AutoCAD Working knowledge of Revit Experience with Bluebeam Revu or similar markup/review platforms Experience supporting construction documents, layout plans, and fixture plans Strong attention to detail and organizational skills Ability to manage multiple priorities in deadline-driven environments Comfortable working collaboratively in highly cross-functional teams Professional communication skills and willingness to participate actively in video meetings Preferred Experience Retail store planning or interior planning experience Experience adapting layouts to varying site conditions Experience coordinating with external consultants and construction partners Prior experience supporting enterprise retail rollout programs Environment & Logistics Remote opportunity Preference for candidates within driving distance of local Walgreens offices for occasional onsite collaboration Flexible Monday–Friday schedule aligned with team operations Initial contract duration: 4–6 months Strong potential for extension or long-term conversion based on performance Why Ontrac Solutions Ontrac Solutions partners with enterprise organizations to modernize operations, accelerate delivery, and build scalable technology-enabled business capabilities.
